Aunt Bessies Short Crust Pastry Mix 500g, Pastry Mix for Pie 500g, Pack of 6

After finding it increasingly hard to get this in supermarkets (and not being much of a pastry chef) I was delighted to be able to order it here. It easily makes great pastry, much better than the frozen or pre-rolled stuff. Yes, there were a few lumps but they were easy to break up with a fork and the pastry mixed really quickly and nicely. I'll definitely be re-ordering!

These packets of ready to use pastry, after adding liquid, are very good. A handy standby & very easy to use….tasty too!

Good to use in case of emergency. Taste was good and you just need to add water.

I love these pastry mixes. It makes really good pastry just by adding water. It seems more or less foolproof. I'm impressed by the cost too.

Bought this cos my own pastry ends up sticky. Found it difficult to mix although it rolled out and tasted ok. The instructions are confusing saying milk needed but doesn’t say when to use it, so I just used the water.

Handy store cupboard item, not easy to find in the supermarkets and so much easier than having to rub the fat into the flour. Just measure out what you need, give a quick stir with a fork to break up any lumps, add water and bring the dough together by hand. I put it into a small plastic bag to mould into a ball and put into the fridge to chill, though the instructions don't say you need to do this. Makes great pastry for savoury pies or add a little icing sugar to the dry mix beforehand for a nice sweet dough.
