Are cut resistant gloves better for primarily carving while on backpacking trips?

I recommend them anytime you are carving. Also cut ''resistant'' doesn't mean cut proof. I have been cut through the glove, but it would have been 10 times worse had I not been wearing it. Also they do a good job of protecting against slicing cuts, but a stab cut will go through the glove.
