Best baby gate ever, so I bought a 2nd one and still as good 4 moths after
I have tried a lot, a LOT of baby gates, and this one is by far the best. Let me list the pros and cons:Pros:- Sturdy: the gate is sturdy and holds very well to the wall without the need to drill or glue anything to your walls. All the other gates I tried either did not hold well to the wall when installed not very tight or were hard or almost impossible to open with a tight installation. The frame is sturdy and thick so it should not break anytime soon.- Childproof open mechanism: the mechanism requires 2 hands to open and tump my 6 and 4 year old. But once I explained to them they were able to open it easily but no way my last one will be able to before she turns at least 2.- Auto-close mechanism: it closes by itself quickly thanks to a simple and sturdy system. No spring or small part that will break anytime soon.- Can stay open when you need it to: just leave the door opened at a 90 degree angle and then voila! It stays open while I carry dishes to and from the kitchen.- 2 different extension brackets for large openings.Cons:- Ideally I'd like for a way to de-activate the childproof lock for easier opening when my hands are full- I would like the gate to come with a wall protector because unless you use some, it WILL cause the paint to chip off when you need to re-adjust it. I tried on 2 different types of paint (high gloss and eggshell) and 4 different types of wall surfaces (plywood, plaster, solid wood and drywall)To sum up, best gate ever. I have been using it extensively for about 4 months and it shows absolutely no wear and tear, all the parts are still snug and tight. Love it, so I just got another one and same quality.

Love this gate for keeping my furbaby safe and on the front porch. Easy to open and close. Attractive white coated metal gate.

Great for large openings
This was perfect for our big hallway to block the staircase. It would have been easier with two people installing it (one to hold it steady). The only negative I would comment on is the extensions are not pressure inserts and just flop, which makes it harder to set up, but once it's up it's fine. I do not see how there is an auto close. Overall I give this a 5 star rating and would buy it again.

Good value
Hate works well to keep my child out of the kitchen while I’m cooking. It is a good product for the money. Only problem is the it warps itself and pulls paint off of walls.

Works and looks great!
The media could not be loaded. We love this gate! It’s sturdy and will last a long time I can tell. The closure is tight and no worries there. It was easy to install. Its appearance is nice. Perfect on the safety side and good value.

Widest buget/installation friendly gate I could find
I needed a wide gate to fit the opening on my deck to confine a new beagle puppy when I needed a time out( Ha Ha). The demensions listed are absolutely correct. My stairway opening is just a tad over 52"but i ordered it anyway, as sometimes measurements listed are not accurate, but these were at 51 and a half inches, AS LISTED. Fortunately, before i ordered it, I found a piece of the left over composite decking we could tack on to narrow the opening to make the gate fit. We tried it without the extra decking piece and it was just too short, so we drilled the piece on, it blended perfectly (no one would ever know, ) and we could install the gate perfectly. So , my biggest piece of advice is :TRUST THE MEASUREMENTS! Secondly, someone cautioned that a small dog might strangle itself in the opening. For my 10 week old beagle, she can put her head through the railings but not her shoulders, so I'm thinking that as she grows she should be smart enough not to strangle herself. Nothing in this world is 100 per cent safe; it takes training, observation and prevention. My biggest concern with this gate is the latching mechanism which is easy to use, and i love the fact it swings shut or can stay open BUT, at this point, it latches well, but I fear as she, or a child will gain more weight, they can just apply the weight and it will unlatch. My friend said we can tighten that up, but we haven't gotten there yet. Just a word of caution, especially if mounting on the top of stairs with a toddler. Otherwise, i love this gate. Its sleek, non- obtrusive and meets my current needs

Ok for a pet gate, but I would not trust as with a child
I needed this length specifically. Here is the downside of this gate.. 1) the rubber pads WILL take the paint off your wall (I considered adding a felt pad or a block of wood, but felt that would not keep it in place as would not be as 'grippy' as the rubber piece or the wood would make too much of a space on the end; you really have to crank this thing hard to get it to stay in place (I used a pliers as the plastic would have busted if I'd used the included wrench. 2) You have to add in the number of sections you need to fit the space. I needed all 3 sections.. the one with two on one side is very, very wobbly. No way would I trust this for a child who would climb all over it.. but Ok for my two small pups. What they need is a rod that one can insert into the holes vs me trying to get these little bracket pieces on the outside, which simply isn't enough support. The upside 1) looks nice and 2) easy to use, open/close, 3) was the length I needed, and 4) easy to stay open if you want it to stay open.So bottom line, it works were I want it and was one of the few with the length I needed, I don't have young kids climbing on it but I will have to repair/repaint my walls when I no longer need this.
