How often to you have to change battery?

The battery compartment was too small for the battery to fit inside it! The clock was cheaply made junk!

Does anyone know how to get a refund, without having to pay for return shipment? The clock stopped working in a few months after delivery.

Normally you can get a return label from Amazon.

Is the 12" the face of the clock or the outside diameter ?

the outside diameter is 12" if you measure across the front wood and all is is 10" if you measure across the back it is 12"

Need a Clock that is able to withstand heat above a cooktop?

I don't know. Ours is ideal in our spare bedroom/office.
