Halo: Combat Evolved (Not for Resale)

Great game and price came like new case was in new condition as well

Having spent several weekends in a row studying for the GRE exam, I wanted to take a break from hours of dense reading. So I looked into some reviews online and bought a xbox with HALO-- it has turned out to be the best decision I have ever made (on video games.)The best feature that I like about HALO is the playability. I'm simply amazed by the graphics and how everything else is choreographed with it. Not only that each character is well designed down to the very minor detail, the Artifical Intelligence that the developers put in the game is even more incredible. Not only do your enemies hide when they are hurt or low on ammo, they also know how to take cover to avoid your grenades. They even have a strategy. Whenever you are confronted with a number of elites and jackals, they tend to send the durable elites to take you head on and have the shield-wielding jackals to flank you from the side. When the elites run out of ammo, or about to run out of ammo, they will charge you and attempt to engage you in melee. 2 to 3 consecutive knocks from these things will put you out of the game.You also have A.I. controlled Marines to help you. But they are only useful on Easy and Normal difficulties, mostly because on these levels they tend to send just 1 or 2 elites at a time, they will never send a horde of jackals to back them up. These Marines only make good entertainment with their one liners, ie, "Who's your Daddy!?", "Let me make sure he's dead!" then walks up to the corpse and puts another 3 rounds into the dead body. Marines aren't very effective, however. They are only effective against the foolish grunts and maybe 2 or 3 Jackals-- 1 elite will tear them apart if you don't help.All in all HALO is a great game. The number of vehicles that's included in this game could have made HALO a racing game in its own right. You also have the option to play co-op through the campaign with your friends or against them through death match. If you are into a great first-person shooter game, you definitely will like HALO.

I'm just going to say this right up front. If you are trying to play this for the Xbox 360, you will need a hard drive before you can play it. I have an Xbox 360 S 4 GB model. Apparently the 4 gig hard drive isn't enough to play Xbox games on. Getting a bigger hard drive the S model isn't difficult, but it will run you between $70 and $100 dollars (depending if you buy used or new and how much memory it has).Halo: Combat Evolved is classic. When you think of games that have really set the world of gaming on fire, Halo is one of the titles that come to mind. I bought this off of Amazon because I wanted to go back and play the series in order, I have only ever played through Reach.This is an original Xbox game, so the graphics will not be as good as an Xbox 360 game. If you want better graphics for Halo, you will need to buy the re-release for the 360. Game play is fun, but I have never found it as ground breaking as a lot of people claimed. What keeps me interested in the series is the story line and combat.

Back in November of 2001 I was one of the people who had pre-ordered an original xbox , in order to be guaranteed a console on launch day, you had to pre-order a bundle, back at that time, the best deal that i found was from an unlikely place....KB TOY AND HOBBY, the were offering bundles consisting of the console , three games and an extra controller. The three games I chose were project gothem racing, oddworld: munches oddessy , and tony hawks pro-skater 2x , a friend of mine got the same bundle except he got halo instead of tony hawk, after about 6 months he lost interest in halo (yea weird right?) and I ended up trading him his copy of halo for a screen that went on top the ps-one , I took it home, put it in, and i was hooked. I must have played that game over a dozen times , each time i played i discovered something new , then in 2008, after apparently being drugged and having my brain sucked out by alians, I sold my original xbox and my collection of games , thinking that since i got my 360 , i wouldn't play the old original any more.... boy was i regretting that. Fast forward 5 years , i bought another original xbox ( found a great deal on craigslist) and just got this game sent to me , after all these years, im lost in halo again, ok this game is great , dont think , just buy it.

I bought a new game, I paid extra for a new copy 44$ not an open and used copy what a scam.

My 2003 version of the game cracked after almost 18 years. So I was a bit panicked if any copies of the game were still around. Thankfully, I read the reviews with the seller and clicked "buy." It got delivered nearly 5 days sooner than expected. And while the game disc itself was housed in a clear case with no booklet or paper label, I didn't care. I still have the 2003 case and booklet.I tested the game out tonight and it worked with no issues. Very happy to have this game back again! While it technically is the 2001 version of the game, the 2003 version I had just included the HALO 2 previews with the game.Neither the lack of a complete Xbox case and booklet, nor the 2001 version are deal breakers. The primary purpose for this purchase was to have access to the game again. And for that reason, I am very pleased with this purchase!
