Good little clamps.
For me these clamps worked very well. They held the planking very well and are simple to use. They made planking go a lot faster. When you assemble them you just have to be a bit cautious. They will break easily until you get them put together. Once together they are strong. I plan on buying several more sets of them as I can afford them.

Absolute Junk
Assembly required is right! First cut the mismatched parts from the stencils. Then, following directions for a much easier version (that don't at all work for this), prepare for frustration and glued fingertips. I assembled my first one, looked at the quality. It looked like crap. I tried the thumbscrew, and of course it spins freely when tightening the wingnut, meaning it lacks clamp pressure. This is junk. Stay away. I'm making my own out of MDF.

As Advertised...
The clamps will be easy for any modeler to assemble and they work as expected and advertised. Planking a wooden model ship requires multiple tacking points and these make it easier. What I like best is that you can position these clamps and still (usually) have space to work around them as you attach more planks. This was not possible when using larger clamps and the plank wood does not get damaged as is often the case when using the small, black metal "alligator" type clamps for paper that many hobbyists use.

They aren't bad clamps, but their assembly is not fun.
It takes time to get the six clamps assembled. Way too much time in my opinion, especially when you need to make two sets of them (12 clamps). When I was finished I did have a dozen nice little clamps that should make planking the hull a bit easier. For the money, around $15 a set, I expected clamps that were either completely assembled or at least partially made. This kind of assembly is a major league turn off for me, however, If they work as well as other reviewers said they did I will be happy.

Not Easy To Assemble
After you get them assembled, they work OK, but they are a considerable amount of work to assemble. I rather spend my time on my model rather than building tools.

Very well constructed. Top grade modelers tool

too clumsy, bad design
These things are a terrific idea, but badly executed. The wing nuts are too small (they are hard to grip), the threads are too coarse to exert any decent amount of pressure, location of the adjusting screw is bad (giving way too much distance from the clamp to the clamping screw), and it is impossible to get a grip on the bulkhead because wood-on-wood is too slippery. I tried re-working them, but it is too much. I will just have to make something that really works. Phooey.

They Takes As Long To Construct As The Model It's Supposed To Support!
I didn't pay ยฃ40 just to receive more things to assemble!
