But it's small enough and cheap enough to get anyway. It's an extra loud whistle that you can carry with you at all times and use in the (hopefully unlikely) event that you need to summon help or to referee a match or summon your dog. If you're a referee in charge of a match, a lifeguard looking after a pool or getting children's attention in the school playground this works a treat. Dogs react well to it and the loud noise will carry further than your voice. You've doubtless seen TV shows where people call for help but you also know that, sooner or later, your voice would go if you had to yell for help for any length of time. Plus there are lots of places where a voice wouldn't carry far enough for people to hear you. But so long as you can puff into this whistle, you'll be able to attract attention from anyone within ear shot - which, because it's a whistle, will probably be further than your voice would carry. The International distress signal is 6 blasts repeated with an interval of one minute between each series of 6 blasts. If your whistles are heard, you should hear three whistles in reply. Keep repeating the whistle blasts so that your location can be found. I've not got anything to measure the decibel level this gives out but can definitely attest to it being loud! It's made from steel with a yellow lanyard so you can wear it round your neck or attach it to your key ring, rucksack, backpack or wherever else you prefer to carry it. It's lightweight so it's not going to hamper your activities or refereeing or dog walking - you can take it with you when you're camping, hiking or even just walking or cycling around locally. ## Features - Traditional design loud metal police whistle including key ring attachment, yellow lanyard and plastic presentation box. The sound carries a lot further than your voice and will carry on as long as you can puff into the whistle. - Ideal for emergencies, sports, referees, coaches, dog walkers, hiking, camping, lifeguards, teachers and anywhere else you need to attract attention from anyone within ear shot - which, because it's a whistle, will probably be further than your voice would carry. - Small, compact design - the whistle weighs about 16 grams and is approximately 65mm long. It's got a keyring at one end and there's a a 70cm yellow lanyard included in the plastic presentation box. - There are lots of places where a voice wouldn't carry far enough for people to hear you - a whistle noise carries further than a voice and there's minimal effort involved in making a loud noise regularly until help arrives. The noise won't wake the dead but it comes close! - If you don't use it for sports or to call your dog, this is one of those things that you hope you never need. But it's small enough and cheap enough to get anyway. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Package Dimensions | 8.3 x 3.7 x 3 cm; 16 g | | Colour | Yellow | | Material Type | Metal | | Instrument Key | E | | Country Produced In | china | | Item Weight | 16 g | ## Product Details - **Colour:** Yellow - **Brand:** Stonham - **Instrument key:** E - **Material:** Metal - **Style:** Sports ## Images ![Metal Police Whistle with Lanyard: Super Loud Emergency Distress/Sports/Dog Whistle - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71DP5Bjo-CL.jpg) ![Metal Police Whistle with Lanyard: Super Loud Emergency Distress/Sports/Dog Whistle - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71W4LbxWsJL.jpg) ![Metal Police Whistle with Lanyard: Super Loud Emergency Distress/Sports/Dog Whistle - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71jWSZKOdiL.jpg) ![Metal Police Whistle with Lanyard: Super Loud Emergency Distress/Sports/Dog Whistle - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71pc+shrIjL.jpg) ![Metal Police Whistle with Lanyard: Super Loud Emergency Distress/Sports/Dog Whistle - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/612RLcvh2oL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good whistle, nice and loud, lightweight *by B***E on 12 May 2022* The media could not be loaded. This whistle definitely does the job. I ordered it to deal with some persistent inappropriate calls. It's very loud if you blow full force, less so if you do not use a hard, fast breath. It is very lightweight; in fact you barely feel the weight of it. It includes a bright yellow lanyard and comes in a small plastic storage case. I think this is decent value for money.I hope you found these comments helpful. :) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very loud *by O***K on 13 November 2022* This item will be excellent in a emergency situation. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Scout leader gift *by G***Y on 21 December 2023* Bought this for my daughters Squirrel Scout leader when it was time to move to Beavers. It was really appreciated. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/286454980-metal-police-whistle-with-lanyard-super-loud-emergency-distress-sports](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/286454980-metal-police-whistle-with-lanyard-super-loud-emergency-distress-sports) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
