Hello, my name is Chert. I am a full grown, 140 pound German Shepherd. When I first came to my family, they knew I'd be a big boy, however, I don't think they quite imagined me to be as big as I am. When I was 7 months old I could hold a full soccer ball in my mouth. My bite and teeth would puncture them so they'd deflate. I was usually left with a flap of rubber with tatters of covering. I loved that too but it's not the same as a ball. If I was tossed a tennis ball it would be crushed before I got it back to be thrown again. My neighbor who worked at a pet store gave me a horse Jolly Ball for Christmas. Wow! It was huge! but I managed to flatten it a bit with my paws and pick it up to bring it back. My mom and dad found the handled Jolly Ball and got me one of those. I finally wore that one out after two years and now it was time for a new one. I still have my old one and it is still in fairly good shape but it is deformed, frozen by the winter. I can't take it to the dog park because all the other dogs are so curious about it that they want it. When we go away I run and get my Jolly Ball and tell mom and dad I'm packed. Both balls come in the house when I come in so no one can steal them and the winter can't deform my new one. I'm back to chasing my new one and there is nothing like it. I'm a happy puppy!

This is not a chew toy. Plain and simple. Your dog will puncture it immediately with their teeth. However, it does not deflate. It just gets tons and tons and tons of little teeth punctures in it. Eventually, the handle will get torn off from the teeth puncture holes. This is thick (not HARD) plastic or rubber or something like that. It bounces. It will get destroyed. So, it is your job to figure out ways to prolong its life. I found that thick blankets wrapped around the toy prolongs its life significantly while adding much more mental stimulation for the dog and extreme amusement for me. My pit-bull fur-baby can sit down and chomp away at the handle and rip it off if I let him. Instead, I act as a parent supervising their child and get him to hold it and shake it. I wrap it in blankets and he has to figure out how to get it out of the blanket, but usually he chomps down on the blanket and gets his chomping needs done that way, thereby not damaging the toy itself. Then finally when the handle has been ripped off and the toy is destroyed, I use its shell to put other toys inside of it, making it a hunt and seek game for my pit-bull.
