These are so fun. I wasn't sure about them when we opened them because they look like a page that's so colorful its already colored but its so neat because when you add the water the colors on it blend to make it look just like water colors. Do keep in mind it is like water color when wet and may possibly stain. I would recommend painting in a surface that you dont care if it gets ruined. You can see in the picture i posted where it has been painted and where it hasnt.

All you need is a cup of water, brushes are included. What a great idea! The watercolors are printed onto the pictures and spread with a little water and very little effort. My four-year-old granddaughter loves to sit and paint with me. She is much faster than I am, so she often completes two or three before I finish one but I'm trying harder to stay in the lines! Not the best project for a wooden surface as you will get some on the project surface, but countertops wipe off easily. Does not stain skin or clothing.

I bought these for my 2-year-old grandchild as her older sibling has a paint set and I want her to be able to paint too. It works amazingly well and she loves painting with just water just be careful because if there's a lot of water the colors will blend together. This is something we have taken with us to restaurants to keep them occupied and it works amazingly.

Great paint with water set. Removed a star because the pages already are quite bright and colorful before the painting and therefore the experience lacks the magical WOW of watching colors appear (which I remember from both my childhood and raising my own kids 20-30 years ago). So, painting with water pushes the color around but doesn't really make it much more brilliant or deep. The images are fun and the paper is thick enough not to tear or disintegrate while painting.

I love that these do not make a mess and each page has their own set of paint. When I let my two year old use a paint pallet she uses a whole pallet in one sitting using way too much paint. These are great because it limits how much paint she can use. I love these for traveling. We took them on two vacations and we just would rip out a page at a time for her to paint.

Perfect painting book for ALL ages! I bought this for my 3 year old bc it's easy to use. The paint colors are built in to the pages. Each section of the picture to be painted has a design. The design is made up up colors, that when you add water, they blend to create the color. So an orange color will be made up of red and yellow. Genius idea! Not only did my 3 year old enjoy painting, my 14 and 16 year olds loved it as did I! I was actually saying how they should make this for adults! It is actually relaxing. Not having to choose colors and watching them blend together with water was fun! The only thing i would change is the brush they include. It's very cheap and stiff. I had a bunch of brushes already so we used those instead. Each book comes with their item brush just in case you are wondering.

These are great books! My grandkids loved them! They are easy to use and don't require an abundance of water for the colors to "paint" on

My kids (2 and 4 years old) love those books. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed since I received the fairy book instead of the pirate book.
