This was ordered as a gift for a family member who reports they really like how it feels after heating. It holds the heat well and is easy to use. The moist heat is very comforting and the material is very soft. It really was effective at reducing their neck and shoulder pain.

I was at physical therapy for neck and upper back pain, and the therapist wrapped a heating pad around my neck and shoulders. It had a strap to fasten it. I was talking to him about getting one, but AI was unable to find one at the site he told me to go to. I found this one on Amazon. I like the "collar" that encircles the neck and the shawl like area that covers my shoulders to get the trapezius muscles on both sides. The back hangs a little low to get the upper part of the thoracic spine, but does not hang all the way to the mid back. (Neither did the one at the therapist's office. ) It is very nice to sit with it. It stays in place and holds it's heat for at least 20 minutes or longer. It is easy to heat in the microwave, and has a comfortable heaviness because of the beads which make it stay in place. The hint of lavender is a relaxing bonus. I am well satisfied.

Best thing I have found so far for neck and shoulder pain was in he cape. I microwave for 2 mins and the heat will usually last for about 10 mins. I really like that it’s weighted which means it stays put, can walk around with it, my neck feels better with the compression and it also can be used as a dual cold wrap. One of the things I dislike about it is that it’s smaller and shorter than pictured on Amazon. Wish it were longer and covered more of the shoulder/shoulder blade area while covering the neck. . I can maneuver the ends to sit more directly on the shoulder but to do that means I lose it’s neck coverage. Also tried the 8”by 18” size wrap to keep in the freezer but it’s too short to cover the neck let alone the neck and shoulder area and it’s not worth freezing for 4 hrs to get 5-10 mins of icing. . The amazon photo of it makes it appear longer than it actually is.

Exploded in microwave! Followed instructions, used a few times time no issue then it exploded.

The item is very heavy to wear and put on. Easy to use. Mic for 2 minutes. Only lasts about 10 minutes with highest heat. The pad smells nice when heated. Too heavy to walk around with it on. Too heavy for an elderly person. A pain to get up and reheat pad if you need the heat for the side of your neck. Works good on shoulders but not sides of neck area. Ok for back of neck. Item does what it says but just not very convenient to reheat and very heavy to carry around.
