Are these easily disinfected? I'd like to use them in my classroom. I need to be able to sanitize often/easily and without compromising the materials

I have hangman and tic-tac-toe, and yes you can disinfect them. I would worry that even if you used a small bowl the magnets might clump up and stick together, also drying would be difficult. It could be done if you had a lot of patience.

What games would be good for a 9 year old?

This would be a good game for a 9-year-old child. This is too easy for an adult unless you buy multiple copies of the game and combine parts of each.
