Contec Medical Systems 50DL Finger Pulse Oximeter, Pink

Good device.. Gave it to my girlfriend as a graduation present 'cause she works as a EMT and she, obviously, likes the color... Says it works fine but takes a little bit to take a reading.. Seconds actually, but that's a useful time when it comes to an emergency on the matter.. Once it gives the reading, is pretty accurate, really important fact.. So, if you're planning on using it to keep track of yourself or an acquaintance, just to get in control, this is the perfect item.. If you're going to use it as part of your job, better keep looking 'cause of the delay on the reading part... But, in general, for the price and considering it does the work.. It is somehow recommended..

I like the color, but it came with a black rubber protective sleeve, I wish that had been pink as well.Can be a little slow to pick up readings, but correlates well with the pulse ox machines used in the hospital.Easy to disinfect with alcohol wipes between patients.Too big to use on pediatric patients/patients with very small fingers, really anyone below about 10 years of age.Has a lanyard it clips to so you can wear it around your neck which is nice, but the clip isn't very strong so my pulse ox has fallen to the floor a few times when it has gotten caught on my stethoscope. On that note, however, it is very durable and has withstood the falls!

I ordered this pulse ox to carry in my pocket because I can never find the one we have at work ( only 1 in the whole building, I am a nurse) It's very accurate.There is only a couple reasons why I did not give it 5 stars....1. Sometimes it takes 30sec or longer for pulse and ox. to come up on the screen. Some patients do not like that and for me its time consuming.2. It doesn't work on small children.With that being said its a 24.00$ machine so I wasn't eexpecting a lot from this product BUT it is very accurate and the display simple.

I have asthma and it's gotten pretty bad so I thought it'd be nice to be able to check my oxygen level, when I want. If I feel it's low, I start having anxiety but when I check it with this and it's fine, my anxiety calms way down. I love having it around. I just wish the numbers would stop fluctuating all over the place and lock in somewhere.

Ordered as a backup for when there is a shortage of machines on my unit. The first one I ordered did not work and had to be sent back. Easy return. Received the new one quickly. Works well. Off a bit from the ones calibrated on my unit but not bad for a quick check of O2 sat. I always recheck anything low with the machines on my unit.

I am an MA in a gastroenterology clinic. A nurse and one other MA uses a pulse ox's to speed up taking vitals. I had used one at the cancer clinic I worked in but had to leave it there. This one functions perfectly, just like the one I had been issued in the cancer clinic. Plus it was pink! I have been using it everyday with no issues. I have even recommended it to my fellow co-workers. Even my supervisor borrows mine!

The case is made too small and the batteries are too big for it. They actually put so much pressure on the case they cracked it. Now to get spo2 readings I have to pinch to hold it together while on my pts finger. PAIN!!!!!!!!
