Dizziness/Vertigo
This review is for those of us that suffer from that horrible "off balance" feeling / dizziness / vertigo. After exhausting the few things doctors can check for with regards to dizziness, you are basically left to figuring out how to live with it. I tried taking several medications and some worked decent but with side effects and some didn't work at all. I then found Migra-Eeze in one of my late night searches for how to rid myself of dizziness that came on suddenly one day. That was over a year ago. For me, this works better then anything else and without side effects. I've tried Migravent and for me, it didn't work near as well. I recently stopped taking my nightly pill because of some complications with my auto-immune disease. I wanted to cut out anything that I take that wasn't absolutely necessary. I haven't had the "off balance" feeling for so long, I wasn't even sure I needed it anymore. I didn't notice anything for a few days and figured I didn't need it anymore. Wrong, today I woke up with that feeling. Everyone that has dizziness knows how awful it is to have that constant and low level dizziness (I do sometimes get actual vertigo but rarely and it only lasts second/minutes). Needless to say I'll be taking 2 per day until it goes away and then will drop back down to my maintenance 1 a day. I should say, for others looking for their own answers, I've had migraines since a teen (I'm now in my mid-40's and female) and I have a rare sub-set of cluster migraines that are tied to my autonomic nervous system. So it probably is why I have the dizziness. For those taking it for migraines, it's not like a rescue pill. My adult daughter has PMS migraines, she needs to start taking one morning & night a few days before her cycle starts and then continue for 5-7 days. You should take these as maintenance or before a migraine, not as a rescue med.

Migraines stay away!
My neurologist said if I keep getting migraines she’ll have to put me on another medication. So I looked for an gentler alternative that would help to prevent them. I have migraines with aura; this totally prevents them as long as I take it at least 1x per day (it’s expensive!). They give me zero side effects. If I have a particularly bad day and feel a migraine breaking through, I’ll take a second one and it usually goes away within 30 minutes. It’s a lifesaver- no more missed days of work and being stuck in bed laying in the dark for hours on end. I can’t tolerate caffeine so Excedrin didn’t work for me. Like all gelatin capsules in the summer months the bottle can heat up and the capsules become stuck together. I put them in the freezer for 10 min and then stick my finger or a pen in the bottle to break them up enough to grab individually. They’re pretty forgiving and I’ve never broken a capsule.

Try it- it is a life changer for me.
I rarely have time to write a review but I do read lots of them. I feel like if I could persuade just one person to try this it would be worth my time. I have been to 5 different neurologist in the last 20 years. I have tried every preventive medication out there and many in very high doses with terrible side effects. I was unable to find one single prescription to do anything for my chronic daily migraines. I have been in many trials, and even taken hormones in my 30s to try to help these awful migraines. I had a doctor give me Pedadolex from Webber and Webber about 12 years ago. It has been the only thing to help me not wake up every single day in pain. I was very nervous about taking another brand of butterbur as the brand in the studies in Germany was that brand. It is very expensive. About a year ago, I had a doctor tell me how good the quality of life extension products are and found this. I can't stress enough just how much of a life changing thing butterbur is for me. Zero side effects. I love this product. I had to get off of this to prepare for a surgery and the doctor wanted me off all supplements. It took me 2.5 months to get back to feeling better. My suggestion is to give this product a shot, and know that it takes a good 2-3 months to build up in your system. I have spent countless hours trying to research and help my migraines. I was a frequent flyer in the ER. Shots of heavy narcotics only to wake up the next morning to start all over. This, grouped with prednisone when I wake up with a migraine for 3 days in a rowe (to prevent rebound) has helped me have a better quality of life.

REALLY HELPS with migraine prevention/control
I've been taking this particular version of butterbur since my neurologist mentioned it back in... 2016? The time I STOPPED taking it for a dental procedure because I didn't want any type of chemical/medication possibly conflicting with the dental medication (medication and especially oral issues are huge triggers for my anxiety) I REALLY felt the difference. This really makes a huge difference with helping my daily migraines to become less problematic and noticeable and less painful. While butterbur CAN lead to liver issues, these issues can be avoided with taking butterbur that is processed very well, which Life Extension does, and by having blood tests every 6 months or yearly. Since I've been on this, I have never had any problems - except when I took two at the same time by mistake. If you are sensitive to chemicals/medications, I would recommend taking only one pill per day for a couple of weeks before increasing to one pill twice per day. For me, all I've ever taken for these years is just the one pill per day dose.

This works and there are some side effects
I've had migraine for about 30 years and have tried many traditional and alternative therapies, supplements, and drugs. The first four months I took butterbur, it worked really well. I had many many fewer episodes. Then it stopped working. I continued to take 1/3 capsule daily for another eight months or so and just stopped about two months ago. I tried it because of the scientific studies showing that it is effective for cutting down the frequency of migraine. Pros: It still (oddly) works for me as a prophylactic. I don't like the strong side effects of the triptans so I try the butterbur first. It works about 3/4th of the time. It causes digestive problems since I'm no longer used to taking it every day but those side effects are preferable to the pain and other symptoms of migraine. Cons: The reason I only took 1/3 capsule daily is because the butterbur is hard on my digestion. When I started it, I kept cutting down until I found a dose I could tolerate. I put three tablespoons on a plate and then put a teaspoon or so of applesauce in each of three tablespoons. Then I mixed the liquid inside the Migra-eeze capsule by squeezing back and forth. After puncturing or clipping the very end of the capsule, I squeezed the liquid evenly into the three tablespoons. Then I covered the butterbur in each tablespoon with another teaspoon of applesauce, and covered and refrigerated them. The reason I used applesauce is because it holds together quite well and the butterbur/ginger/riboflavin tastes bad and applesauce cuts the taste and the oil base. (I tried other strengths and preparations of butterbur but none worked as well as the Migra-eeze.) To be fair, I have other health issues which may cause the digestion problems. Maybe it doesn't cause this kind of problem for others. Perhaps it would have worked better for me if I could've taken the recommended dosage. I'm currently on the Buchholtz' Heal Your Headache 1-2-3 program and have cut out all the pain meds and everything on the diet except caffeine. I've only been on it for about three weeks and I've only had one headache (whereas in the previous year I had 2-3 every week). The headache came after cheating on the diet (a lot) on Thanksgiving Day. It's too early to tell whether this will have a lasting benefit. Additionally to the diet, my husband and I started working on our sleep hygiene about three months ago and we are sleeping much better now. We have regular sleep/wake times and a bedtime routine now including turning off all electronics an hour before we go to bed. I think that is also contributing to the trend of fewer and less severe headaches. I think butterbur is likely one of those things that helps some people and it appears to be safe as long as people make sure they get one of the reliable preparations that clearly state that the toxic pyrolizidine alkaloids (PA) have been removed. I would try it again at some point if headaches increase again as the increased headaches I had the last year could be due to other factors.

Do not recommend.
Just tried to return/replace item as it came all melted together. Tried to see if I could pry any away but they are melted into one another and when forced apart the inside spilled and stained. So sad I’m out money and have no usable product.

Right dose in a softgel, good customer service
The neurologist I saw recommended I take 400mg of B2 and 150mg of Butterbur extract daily. I checked quite a few places locally, and was unable to find what I needed. Having the required dosage in 2 softgels is fantastic. Also, the customer service is great - I had one bottle where some of the softgels had burst inside, and they sent me a replacement right away.

Didn't Meet Expectation
I used this as directed for a few days. I had an upset stomach the whole time so I discontinued taking them. Plus they caused discoloured urine.
