We bought this and it appears to be the same quality/product as what we used to by there. Light in color and with a light, nutty, smell. Very pleased. Also much less expensive than the co-op. Update Dec. 2017. I ordered a second time. It comes double-bagged and is just a big hunk of raw shea butter. Again, very happy with it. I mixed it with coconut, jojoba, and olive oils to make an excellent body butter. I did notice another review disliked it, saying it had some debris in it. For me, it was very, very little, a few specks in the entire 2lb. package once I melted it all down. I used a spoon to fish out the 4-5 specks (think pepper flakes) I saw. It is worth remembering this comes from a tree, with seeds, that grows in the ground...and hasn't been refined. That is what you are buying, something that is as close to this as possible. For this, I found it exceptionally clear and free of debris (moreso than what I bought from co-op). ### ⭐⭐ The reviews are great. But the Shea butter I received smells stale like it's been in a bag of sack clothe and under someone's armpit. Seriously I have never had this kinda bad smell from Shea butter. It didn't look fresh or clean. It had so many green/cyan threads in it. I bought this because it was a reasonable price but can't tolerate the unusual smell from it. I've come to learn that pure shea butter does not expire but the fact that this one went bad, it must be mixed with something else and not Pure unrefined raw African shea butter as advertised. DO NOT BUY! I used part of it when i got it and it smelled as it should but after not using for a year or two then went to use it to make lip balm it did not smell as it should and i attempted to use it and it gave me a rash.
