A lovely Christmassy feel good read.Christy and Seb are planning a trip to Lapland to see her Aunt who she hasn’t seen since she was a child.Seb has lost his job and when Christy finds out, she’s disappointed that he hasn’t confided in her.Alix is Christy’s best friend and she is also going on the trip to Lapland and their friend Zac is also going along.There’s clearly history between the two of them and when Christy asks them to take their daughter to Lapland a few days earlier on their own so her and Seb can have some time together, Christy is apprehensive.Lapland works it’s magic on family and friendships and there’s also a sprinkling of love.A great feel good read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. My first of author Sarah Morgan's (I think?). It was pure Christmas escapism to a bucket list country I would like to visit with my family and grandchildren - but without the modern commercialised trappings.The story itself had me laughing and in places brought tears to my eyes with the characters emotional struggle's both with their own lives and personal relationship's and that awful emotion, suspicion.But throughout there was a sense of strength, faith, hope and joy. The love and sheer joy and of wonderment as seen through the eyes of a child in a childs world I thought beautifully captured.A lovely Christmas read to snuggle up with, with a mug of hot creamy chocolate, infront of a cozy fire.I didn't want to put it down until finished. Ms Morgan has done it again! This is one of those stories where you can’t wait to get to the end to find out what happens, but at the same time you don’t want to because you’d like it to last forever. The story has the usual blend of interesting characters, all with their own emotional baggage and issues. The way they slowly begin to sort out their feelings and mend bridges is truly heart-warming, and I was particularly invested in Alix’s story, hoping she would get a happy ending. It’s a Christmas story, set against the backdrop of gorgeous, snowy Lapland in the north of Sweden – the perfect place for yuletide celebrations. Being half Swedish I am of course a little biased, but the author brought it all to life brilliantly. I absolutely loved this – it’s wonderful!

This is a very linear story with no excitement, humour or surprises.The bits set in the cabin are quite Christmassy and I enjoyed them.

I read my first Sarah Morgan book, A Wedding In December, this time last year and loved it, so I was really excited to read her latest this festive season. And yet again, The Christmas Escape made me laugh out loud, feel full of warmth, and be overcome with the enchantment of the stunning wintery setting.Although there are some similarities to A Wedding In December with the snowy location and confrontational relationship that will obviously develop into something more, I completely pictured two different settings and sets of characters, so Morgan does a fantastic job of using these typical rom-com tropes in an original and exciting way.The Lapland setting is truly magical and I’m now craving a family holiday somewhere nostalgic. I also really enjoyed the company as Morgan always writes her characters so well. With obstacles to overcome in all kinds of relationships – between families, marriages, friends, and couples – I loved getting to see the flaws in each of these characters and the ways in which they worked to learn from their mistakes and do better.For me, Sarah Morgan really knows how to write the perfect Christmas book. The Christmas Escape may be a light-hearted read set around reindeers, sledging, and Christmas tree decorating, but her characters and relationships still pack an emotional punch and I always put her books down wanting more!

Yes a good story about relationships. We think we know people, but we really don't, the moral of this story is not to assume anything. My only reservation is that each chapter is about a character - I'd prefer not to know that... but apart from that, I really enjoyed it.

Loved this visit to Lapland with Christy, Seb and their daughter Holly. It was great how their friends Alix & Zac were woven into the story too. Plenty of Snow, snow activities, love and warmth. The perfect read for the festive season.

Una storia che colpisce: a tratti commovente

Die Weihnachtsbücher von Sarah Morgan gehören für mich einfach in die Weihnachtszeit und so wurde nund endlich auch mal "The Christmas Escape" gelesen.Christy freut sich auf den perfekten Familienurlaub in Lappland, aber dann kommt alles anders und sie steht vor einer Ehekrise und auch mit ihrer besten Freundin Alix sind ein paar Probleme zu bewältigen.Mich konnte die Geschichte von Beginn an wieder verzaubern. Die Familiengeschichte wurde sehr einfühlsam erzählt und die Handlung war voller Emotionen. Christy war eine sympathische Protagonistin und ich fand es sehr interessant sie durch diese Episode ihres Lebens zu begleiten. Es war auch interessant eine bestehende Beziehung mit auf und abs zu begleiten. Trotzdem gibt es auch noch eine frische Liebe. Ihre beste Freundin Alix kann Zac, den besten Freund von Christys Mann eigentlich nicht ausstehen, dennoch können die beiden ihrer Chemie nicht widerstehen. Durch diese verschiedenen Perspektiven der Liebesgeschichten war das Buch sehr abwechslungsreich und unterhaltsam. Gut gefallen hat mir auch die Familiengeschichte von Christy.Das Setting war ein absoluter Traum. Die Beschreibungen des winterlichen Lapplands waren so wunderschön und auch die Aktivitäten, auf denen man die Protagonisten begleitet, waren sehr unterhaltsam und perfekt in das Setting eingebaut.

This may be my favorite book by Sarah Morgan. It’s an exploration into emotions, friendships, communication and families and their complicated relationships. The setting is perfect in the Christmas Arctic. The ending is perfect!
