Good product
Was a few days later receiving than expected delivery date. No instructions on can, but there is some online. Brush product on, and it does show brush strokes. Used lacquer thinner. Thinned 50/50. Overall I am very happy with this product, way better than other products out there. Used to refinish seats in Lund boat. Looks good and seems to protect wood well. Would look great if I sprayed it.

Pricey, but worth it
I selected the satin version of of the varnish and it has not disappointed me at all. Total Boat rocks. The satin finish has provided my salon cabinetry an absolutely lovely finish. As with any project of this nature, most of the work is preparing the surface for the varnish. It is important, however that the application is done with quality brushes, rollers, and other tools. Take your time do it right and you will have the same results. Worth every penny that you spend on this!

Pretty....but not a true satin finish.
This product was easy to work with, no thick sludge in the bottom. And I'm hopeful it will hold up well. It dried smooth and pretty. My biggest annoyance is that this is NOT what satin finish should look like. This is at least semi-gloss in appearance. I actually wanted a matte finish but i cant find a marine urethane in matte so I settled for satin....disappointed that this is sooooo shiny and reflective. Its pretty, but its not what I wanted. I finish a lot of furniture with satin, and I've never had one this shiny. Please don't advertise this product as satin finish when it very much is not, it feels smooth like satin but super reflective like semi gloss.

NOT the same as what I was expecting
I bought this product because their former product "TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish" is not available and Amazon doesn't know if it will be available again. We really liked that product!!! What I bought to re-finish the surfaces I finished previously with TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish - now (GLEAM spar varnish) is NOT the same. I thought Amazon was steering me to a reasonable substitute, a replacement , or maybe an improvement. I needed to get the job done, so I bought this Gleam stuff - but I doubt that my client will be happy with it. I am not. It does NOT look the same or even similar. Why was the original "TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish " discontinued?? It was great.

Failed
Sorry but after 1 year and 2 months the varnish totally peeled off my bench. I sanded down to wood, used their sealer and then this varnish. All marine grade. It failed and now I have to paint my bench again. The bench slats are solid oak but even oak will age with weather. It is likely no finish will last and a penetrating finish is the better option. With respect to other varnishes, this product might be 5 stars. My hosue paint holds up for 20 years, whey not boat paint?
