It was best jerky flavor hands down. I always used to buy by pack of 8, and multiples too, when I was the manager of a store and had access to buying catalogs of items for the store. All of my family loved it. At some point in 2019, either the recipe changed or process way they marinaded and dried the jerky changed. Since then, it is much wetter, much softer, and is definitely far from the perfect dried beef jerky me and my family used to love. It misses the spicy note. It doesn't chew the same way, lot tougher. Most importantly, this wet texture is not a dried jerky! It's like they removed water for like half the time shorter so they can sell you more water instead of the meat. To see if I was correct, I tried to remove the water manually using dry pan method, and I was very disappointed to find out the makers were cheating me out. Once I removed the moisture, it was far closer to the jerky I knew and loved, albeit missing a kick. Recently bought myself a new bag, hoping it went back to the old way. Dissatisfied. Cheated. Lied to.
