AquaLeaf Aquatics Florida 10 Species Live Aquarium Plants Bundle

The plants arrived in good shape and only had 1 unwanted hitchhiker, a small slug, that I found easily when I was separating the bundles prior to trimming and planting. Since planting them this afternoon, I have seen a few small pest snails in the aquarium, which I was expecting. I'm ok with this since I have 3 assassin snails. For those who are new to the hobby or to planted tanks, when you buy plants from anywhere, you WILL get snails. If this is unacceptable to you, simply buy any fish medicine that contains some form of copper and mix it with water in a bucket. Then, before planting, dip them in the bucket for a few minutes. Copper is toxic to inverts like snails and shrimp. Any med that has a warning on it to remove inverts from the tank before use will work, as well as being completely safe for the plants and your fish. As for the plants themselves, they looked very healthy and after a little trimming of the browning leaves, trimming the bottom of the stem plants at a 45* angle and removing a very small amount of algae, they were ready to plant. Some of them looked like the above water version of the leaves, so I'm expecting to get some melting of those leaves while the underwater leaves grow in. This process usually takes a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on the species. I will update if I get any complete die-offs or in a few months when I get complete conversion. My tank is a medium light, low-tech 55g set up.

These are beautiful, healthy plants! I would suggest paying attention to weather conditions before ordering (too hot or cold). First, I am new to live plant tanks (the fake plants would tear my betta's fins). I've ordered twice now from this seller. The first order, I attempted a bleach bath for fear of snails or alge. Some of the plant unfortunately did not survive. I purchased a second batch and just placed them in the tank and have not had any issues with pests or random hitchhikers. I did research on caring for live tanks and find it not to be the easiest or cheapest option in the beginning, but I feel will be so beneficial once my tanks are fully established. I currently have I no fish and I'm just focusing on these plants. I've read that new plants may "melt" when first introducing them to the aquarium due to going from oxygen to being submerged in water, and then they will grow new leaves. I have one tank with pebbles that was cycling with water before i placed the plants in. I found it difficult to keep the plants down in the pebbles or from floating up. My second tank I did sand and planted them before filling the tank which was much easier! I've purchased Root Tabs that I place in the subtrate directly, CO2 Booster, and Leaf Zone to provide nutrients. They seem to be happy plants so far! I'm extremely happy with these plants and I look forward to purchasing more from this seller. I love the variety of all the different plants that come in the bundle. It's a learning process definitely and can't wait to add fish to my beautiful tanks eventually.

The plants I did receive are in decent shape, though the Hygrophila Araguaya is pretty yellow and falling apart. From one of my pictures you can the the plant that is too small ( no way it is 6" which the seller lists as minimum size) to tell if it is Marbled Queen, it does not appear to have any variegation. The Altlandsberg Sword looks flattened. The red plant is Telanthera which is not in the pictures sellers pictures, but is included in the list of Species. Completly missing is the Hygrophila Pinnatifida. I already had half these plants, but saw this as an good way to get Hygrophila Pinnatifida and a couple swords I didn't have. After contacting the seller, I received the missing plants and all is well. Increased my review to four stars since my order has now been made complete. After contacting the seller I was told that the Hygrophila Pinnatifida is sometimes substituted in the winter. That information is nowhere in the listing, but the plant they said they include as a substitution was already on the list of included species ( Telanthera ). Seller requested pictures so he could "see if Telanthera was included" and I provided the ones attached. After not hearing from them I asked if they had received the email with the pictures fearing it may have been blocked due to size. No response. I am disappointed that the plant I wanted most is missing, that the sellers communication is not up to par, and there has been no attempt to correct the issue. Others have had better luck, so you may try your luck and see if your results are better; if not, the seller probably will not make it right. **Update** The seller did respond and I somehow missed it. They said two of the plants were substituted and they are sending replacements.

So this is probably as much my fault as anything else, but I'm writing this review as a cautionary tale to others in my position. I have a shallow 30-35 gallon pond with minnows and goldfish and a box turtle that loves to swim in it. My pond had a few turtle-safe plants in it already, but I had noticed the water beginning to foam, and this meant that I needed more plant life to counteract the fish life to balance the pond. So I ordered this because honestly, it's a great deal. When the plants arrived they were all bunched together in a bag. Nothing was labeled, so I don't know what I got. Everything looked sort of unhealthy, but with the temperature being what it is around the midsouth lately I can't blame the shipper for that. Anyway I popped everything into the substrate, which is only about half an inch thick of pea gravel and sand, and positioned everything away from the walls (so the turtle wouldn't rip it up as she passed by) and in the areas that get the most sunlight. I poured in some pond plant fertilizer, and then waited. A few plants, one I think is Java fern, really added a nice touch to the pond bottom. A few more looked like once they got a hold on the bottom, they'd be really beautiful. One was just like... long skinny leaves with no roots. It was almost completely brown but I had high hopes for it. So two weeks or so in, and the Java fern has shrunk. Not looking so good. Two of the more potentially beatific plants are completely gone. Turns out I wasn't the only one who thought they looked nice--I think the fish ate them. The long skinny ones got pulled out by the turtle when she swam around. One very pretty set of cuttings was purple with little white tips on the end. Pretty sure the turtle ate those. This morning the foam is starting to come back (it had completely went away initially). It looks like, of the initial ten plants I placed in there, only 3 remain in any sort of living condition. What's really crazy about this is I may order again. I still need plants in my little pond and this is the best deal out there. I suppose it would help if I knew anything about these species, and it would be incredibly helpful if the seller would put some sort of description card and special care instructions for the actual plants I received. I'm not sure if that would have made me more successful, but it couldn't hurt. It was very frustrating not knowing what I'm putting in the pond or how sensitive it might be. All in all, I'll say it was great value for the money, tempting fate to get it through the mail, impossible (for someone like me) to identify the species or know how to care for each one, and the survivability is reduced by so many variables here, it might not be worth it, but then again it might. The plants arrived much sooner than expected. Having recently purchased plants from other online sellers I can honestly say that these are of a much higher quality. All but the cuttings came with many healthy roots in wonderful condition. The cuttings came well protected with foam and a lead strip instead of a rubber band crushing the stems. Only one plant was melting away but I cleaned the bad and planted the remaining 3-4". It'll probably be fine. The order came with an instruction sheet for care and planting. This company is getting my business in the future. They obviously know what they are doing. My only complaint is the lack of an inventory of the plants shipped. Being new to aquarium plants any info would've been nice to help me learn. An accurate list would've made learning simpler. I highly recommend this seller. Edit 01/01/24 I've got baby snails. I cannot blame this seller for it as I have used multiple other sources for my plants. They did appear within 24 hours of planting this order. I'm not upset by it anyway. It's my fault. I have a mud with sand substrate tank with an abundance of plants and wanted a few snails anyway. You might use better practices for your tank when planting anything from anyone. I didn't but thought my experience would be good info for others to at least know.
