Used these on a pizza oven that didn’t have any sort of way to tell how hot it was inside. Work great and helped better cook our pizzas in the wood fire!

I ordered the 2 pcs BBQ Grill Temperature Gauge to put in the lid of my kettle BBQ pit/smoker. I drilled a hole and installed the gauge in two minutes. I cooked some sausage and a few burgers last night and it worked great. I mounted it near the air vent at the top of the lid and was able to check temp through the vent at the same location with an instant read thermometer and the temp readings were within a degree or two. There is no way you are ever going to mount a temp gauge in the right place to give you the exact temp everywhere on your grill. What this little thermometer will do is consistently tell you what temperature is at the top grill vent that you can use as a reference point. Higher temp, hotter grill, lower temp, not as hot. After using your grill and finding where the warm, hot, hotter, and hottest spots are on your grill you can work on food placement and rotation as you cook. Then this little gauge will help you control your temperature, higher for burgers and dogs, or lower for smoking. With a little practice you can get consistent results. I think this thermometer is a great buy, and you have a spare. It is plenty big enough to reference from several feet away. I would order the same thing if I need another one.

275 vs 282 …. I’ll take this any day of the week. Great little thermometer for the original Weber kettle. We will see on longevity though.

It was great to install on a large drum bbq, helping to see the hot and cool sides when indirect and direct cooking. Had the coal side on searing and the non coal side was at baking temperature. Also works great for resting the meat on the cool side when the hot side reduced to grilling temperautres.
