2 Modifications/Hacks
Hey there. All the other reviews explain the pros and cons of the camera very well. It's a great bang for your buck... and customer service is awesome. But I wanted to tell you guys about two modifications I made to the kit.1. The Waterproof Case LatchI couldn't figure out how to unlock and unlatch the waterproof case, ultimately breaking it. It's a design that asks to be broken, and I contact support telling them that it was my fault... but they sent me a new case which was awesome (I just asked if they sold replacement latches). On the broken case, I figured a way to fix the latch. I removed the black latch, removed the little switch parts that I broke, then I used a very small drill bit and drilled a hole completely through the middle of the latch (see the photo, the red line is where I drilled through). Then I had a small allen wrench that matched the drill bit, and pushed it all the way through. See the photos for the visuals. So I was able to salvage the original case and the allen wrench is way more secure than the tiny plastic switch.2. The Battery CoverThe battery cover is impossible to remove. The switch and the gad to lift the cover out are just two close to get two finger nails in there top open it. I always had to use something like a knife to help pop it out while I hold the switch with my finger nail. To solve this, I super-glued a piece of thread inside the battery cover (see the last two photos). Then you let the string hand out while you close it up. Then when you use your fingernail to slide the switch, you just pull the string and the cover comes off easily. So there you go, a couple of modifications. One to fix the waterproof case latch, and the other to make opening the battery cover easy peasy.Hope it helps. :)

Excellent as a dashcam
This review is about using the LD6000 as a dashcam, since I've been using it almost exclusively as such. This is my 2nd LD6000.The 1st went into "service" about mid 2016, sitting on the dashboard year-round 24/7 for about a year. Even though it's only 1080p@30, comparing to quite a few of the "4k" cams, the LD6000 has the best over balance between sunny daylight and night streets in my opinion. It was so reliable I hardly paid attention for a long time. Then one day I needed to take it off for some reason and noticed it bulked up quite a bit! It turned out the battery was so bloated it shaped more like a goldfish...must be the sun. But it was still WORKING, amazing. So a big thumb up on this one. Now I'm using reflective tapes to cover as much as possible. We'll see how that works out.The 2nd one had a need to update the firmware. It turned out Lightdow had some real difficulty determining which firmware version to pair with, due to the way they update their hardware components, in search for the best balance of quality and cost, I suppose. Personally I'd prefer a reliable firmware path and more predictable quality. However, most of the time one doesn't need to mess around with firmware update. That said, they went out of their way to find a solution and I'm happy with their responsiveness and services. So overall, I give the LD6000 as a dashcam, plus their services, a solid 4.5+. And I will buy again if the need arises.

Very Satisfied!
Great camera for the price! No issues as reported in some of the other reviews. The camera is easy to use and the only problem I had was setting up the wifi. The instructions that were included in the box are minimal and I had to play around with the camera to figure it out. This is what I had to do... hope this is helpful to someone:1. Download the app Canany from play store onto phone or tablet.2. Turn on the camera.3. Press the "up" side button on camera to turn on wifi.4. Open wifi settings on phone/tablet.5. Select "Sports DV" and connect.6. Enter password "12345678"7. Open Canany app installed earlier.8. App will connect to camera and you will be able to control and view. Enjoy!I'm very satisfied with this camera and time will tell how dependable and rugged it is!

WiFi is worthless
WiFi is worthless! Doesn't work at all, not with any device I have. 2 Samsung S6 & S7 also LG tablet. All the devices see the camera "broadcast" Fail to connect, evey time. No a single successful connection, ever, dozens of tries. The xamera works good, little glitchy at 1st, no works almost flawlessly. WiFi is important because 1/2 the time the camera is mounted in a spot that's difficult to reach. So whilst taking video, there's ALWAYS much wasted time storage space turning on/off the camera recording. That would be OK if there was an APP anywhere that allows editing of video, I found none, PlayStore had many APPS that used to work, apparently, not any longer. The camera is good, sturdy, clear... support is nonexistentš£. I'm considering purchasing an editing program for my laptop, hope it works. If Wifi works on any other action cam offered by Amazon, then this will be my basher camera that I can afford to lose

The video is beautiful and very responsive going from light to dark
This camera is very impressive for the low price compared to a gopro. Many of the things you might get from spending an extra $400 on a gopro you can do in post-production. The video is beautiful and very responsive going from light to dark. The audio is pretty bad, but who buys a sport camera for audio? There is very little stabilization if any, but that also can be fixed to a degree using hyperlapse or some other post production stabilization software. I liked this camera so much I bought a second. I purchased these to do timelapse/wide angle video of my wedding.
