Q: This may be a dumb question but why are some of the soaps clear and some milky ?

The clear are made with glycerin... which makes them clear. The milky are more solid soap base...there are no dumb questions when searching for answers 😉

Q: Is the coconut soap base clear ?

No. It looks almost like milk but a little bit diluted. Is not clear or transparent.

Q: Is this soap base for hands or body?

I use this to make my bars of body soap.
