Ultimate Ears ROLL 2 Plum Wireless Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Waterproof) (2016)

Full rich sound in a surprisingly light package. The shock cord clip allows this to attach to a belt, backpack, door handle, or just about anywhere you are. Quick to charge and easy to use. I use it while walking, fishing, or working around the house. I've gotten it wet twice with no issues. Once on the outside of a daypack during a heavy rain and the other fully submerged when I knocked a pack into the stream. I spent eight hours yesterday cleaning out the basement storage room. I hung this on the wall and started the music. Great sound all day long helped a dreary task go more quickly. You can pair multiple phones with it and switch off songs or playlists. Another feature I like is that if you press the up volume and down volume at the same time a pleasant voice will tell you your remaining battery power (e.g. "sixty percent charge"). There is no guessing if it is charged or how much charge is left. Yes the app also has a visual display on your phone but I don't always use with my phone. There is a mini-RCA (3.5 mm) jack which lets me plug in a portable turntable or an old iPod. I looked at reviews and the UE Roll 2 was in the top three for each of the lists I saw. I went to a couple of stores and got a feel for what I liked and for sound. This won hands down for the combination of sound, portability, and the ease of attachment. I highly recommend.

This is by far one of the best purchases I've ever made. First off, the fact that this speaker is waterproof is a game changer. I love to listen to music while I'm in the shower and before buying this I could never really do that since I had to leave my speaker outside the shower and the noise from the shower head canceled out most of the music. The bungee cord makes it super easy to hang it on a hook in the shower and then your music is right there at ear level. The sound quality is great. You can download the UE app and within that you can tinker around with the EQ, it's set at the normal balance right out of the box, but you can select the premade "standard" or "bass jump" modes, or make your own using the EQ modifier. I keep mine on standard since I listen to a variety of music, but everything from bassy EDM to classic rock sounds amazing. The other nice thing about the speaker is that they include a floaty for you to strap the speaker to. I've already made all of my friends jealous by bringing it to pool parties and my lake house, it's great to listen to while you're swimming. Be warned it DOES NOT FLOAT so do not take it off in deep water or else it will sink. Also, I can leave it playing on the first floor of my house and walk up to my room on the second floor and not lose connection, the wireless range is phenomenal​. Overall this is the best speaker I've ever owned. If you're considering buying this or another one of the UE speakers, I highly encourage you to, you definitely won't regret it.

So far this speaker is great! Charged quickly, pairs to BT devices easily, and fit in my computer wheelie for a quick overnight trip without added bulk or weight. Sound is quite good, enough bass and not tinny. Get's loud enough for hotel room use, but maybe not if you were having a party. Pairing two would help, I assume. Love the app you can download to tweak the EQ! Have not floated this yet, so can't speak to the water resistance factor. I've purchased a lot of inexpensive wired/wireless speakers for travel, and this is the best sounding one yet...aside from our Bose Mini Soundlink, which is only practical on longer trips with a bigger suitcase. This works perfectly for quick trips with small carryons.

This is a very simple and great-sounding speaker. The sound output is amazingly loud and clear, especially given the compact design. It doesn't have some features, like a microphone or forward/back buttons (or even play/pause for that matter), but if you just want a nice speaker to play music, this is a great choice. The only real downsides are the fiddly USB charging port and line in port. They are beneath a rubber gasket, presumably to keep the water out, but it makes charging a bit of a pain. If a future version ever comes with wireless charging, I'd be all over it. I've also connected this speaker to my Amazon Echo Dot via a line in cable, and the connector is a bit tricky. I have to push the plug quite hard into the socket to make sure it is seated correctly, and that is hindered by the rubber cover and gasket. Despite those annoyances, this is a terrific speaker, and I highly recommend it.

We need nice quality sound everywhere we go - especially on long vacations. We recently took two of these devices on a 12 day Hawaiian vacation and they performed brilliantly. I highly recommend getting two; you can either have them in separate rooms in mono such that you have the music playing in the bathroom and then in the main section of the hotel room (like we did), or you can position them like satellite speakers and turn on stereo mode when your sitting or lying in bed. The low frequency response is minimal, and with the size and weight of the device I wasn't expect more, but you're traveling with it, hanging it from review mirror in your rental car, and it's light and compact. The midrange is perfect and the high frequencies are crisp and clear without being abrasive. We took it into the pool with us as we swam and played and it rests perfectly on it's flotation device that comes with it (like a mini inter tube). My wife accidentally knocked it off and it sank to the bottom of the pool. No problem - still works perfectly!!

Got this yesterday because I was tired of listening to the really poor sound on my iPhone. This is great. It's small and lightweight and the sound is really good! I can take it with me around the house and into the basement while I'm doing the laundry. It has a little bungee handle you can use or not. Kinda like having a built in sound system in every room of the house. Comes with a cute little blow-up inner tube for pool use (which I will never use) . I can also control the volume and what's playing from any room in the house with my iPhone (which I do not need to carry around with me) or I can control the volume on the speaker itself. Really glad I bought it.

First time reviewer, I've never cared enough to draft a product review until the UE Roll 2, the experience really grinded my gears. Positive: Before getting to the negatives, which are forthcoming in spades, noteworthy the product (while operational) is pretty solid. For the value: Quality sound, volume spectrum serviceable (loud enough for any reasonable use of such a sized device), relatively easy and lag-less connectivity to ios device (via app), sleek design convenient for transport. From a "value" perspective I was satisfied, albeit the sound quality is not on par with higher end alternatives. Negative: The device inexplicably broke after 6 months of light use (nearly all in home). The device suddenly would not take a charge, the result of a faulty battery. I'm a pretty tech savvy dude and pursued every avenue to resolve. After trouble shooting, issue clearly a result of a faulty battery, requiring replacement. This is not covered under the extremely limited factory warranty. Replacement battery not practical from a cost perspective. I was a bit peeved at this point but my gears were not grinded until I tried to contact the manufacturer to inquire about replacement. The customer process was very inconvenient (purposely?) a) had to dig through numerous sites to find the correct contact # for service center b) even more hoops to jump through to get a competent human on the dial. I did not purchase an extended warranty given the low price point, which one could say is my faukt. Imo, the cause of mailfunction is a direct fault of a cheap product, as such the terms of the standard warranty are crap. I've always been one to buy higher end electronics, you get what you pay for, Which has been evident in the Bose device I now own. After sifting through the interwebs its evident this is a pretty common problem, do not purchase with out being aware of this, not cheap enough for this riff Raff.

I've had this speaker for two and a half years (purchased for around 5k) and it's still absolutely fantastic. The sound quality and the battery life are still stunning. The speaker occasionally glitches when connecting, but that's the only issue. Super sturdy, been using it in the shower almost every day and no water / steam damage. I've checked out other budget speakers including JBL Go and nothing matches the quality of this one.

I am in love with this product. This has a amazing sound clarity. It gives superb sound effects when you hook it up to a laptop to watch movies. I must say thanks to all previous reviews which helped me in just opting for the right product for me. Few Pros - 1. Volume is loud enough, so that said half a volume can fill in an Indian Bed Room (11 by 17 Ft) 2. Turn on and off from the UE Roll App on iPhone, so no need to turn it manually. 3. Volume equalizer in the app itself. Cons- 1. Does not connect with my CSR external bluetooth dongle for some reasons. But that does not impact me as my laptop also has aux cables. 2. No Built in Microphone Overall great product and for buyers go for it with close eyes, it is better than JBL.

It's awesome. Very easy to carry it. I love it. But in terms of sound quality it's good but still JBL is better. But still I love it because it more handy. You can travel anywhere with it. In terms of shape and size yes I can say that it's a best portable speaker.

Excellent build quality. The sound is crisp, clear and loud. Have been tested in rains and are waterproof. Battery life is good. Charge time is approx 2 hours using a 2.1 amperes quick charger. Pairing is easy and fast. The Bluetooth range is amazing. Tip: Press volume up and down buttons together to know the battery percentage. Note: This speaker doesn't have inbuilt microphone and call handling capabilities. If a call comes you have to use your phone. This is clearly mentioned in the product page.
