Works like a transformer. Seems well made.This higher-than-normal wattage is needed to drive a gas control valve. Common door-bell type transformer does not have sufficient power.

Secondary winding no-load voltage with 122v input is 26.2. Gets a bit warm but well within normal levels. Haven't tested under sec load but it's got enough meat I'm sure it will do the rated 24 with no problem.

Great value. Just pay attention to the va rating and don't overload it.

Used it to replace a bad one in my furnace. It works so far... but the real test will be this summer when I have to kick on the AC, since the AC puts more demand on this unit.

Had to return stop working.
