tasty tea
i find tetley tea to be a good tea. thank god we like this tea because we bought 300 bags of it. the tea is not too weak so we do not double up the bags, and it is not that strong. i felt this was an excellent deal on the tea bags compared to what i compared to at wm. i would buy this product again...after the 300 bags are finished

There is NO Better for Iced Tea..... !!!
I've been making my own homemade iced tea since I was a child....... 50 years ago. Normally, I've used Lipton or Salada and have been happy. But recently I wanted to try kicking up my tea a bit and decided to buy this 300 pack of Tetley Orange Pekoe as it had rave reviews. Tetley's Orange Pekoe more than stepped up the quality of my iced tea..... it launched it like a rocket ship. There is absolutely no comparison to the more mainline teas or various blends and if you are seeking the best iced tea ever.... here it is. My 50 year recipe taught to me by Mom and she was taught by her Mom. Start with a 1/2 gallon of tap water in a 4 quart pot and add 10 tea bags to this cold water. Place the pot on the stove and heat on medium high stirring occasionally until JUST before boiling (DO NOT BOIL). Look for the first movements of water prior to the boil and immediately remove it from the heat. Allow your tea to steep while stirring and pressing the bags, like a cup of tea. After this has been done for 3 or 4 minutes you will start to smell it and see its rich color. Now you need to remove the bags, squeeze out all their goodness and then add 1 to 2 cups of white sugar before you tea cools any further as it needs to be hot enough to dissolve the sugar. Last step....... add a huge pile of ice cubes to stop the cooking action. I add 8 cups of ice on the first addition and stir until all melted. Your iced tea will be fairly cool and you can serve it over more ice immediate in a pinch. Better yet, add it to a gallon serving container, top up with enough ice to make the full gallon and put it in the fridge. Let this sit until you have finished mowing the lawn..... and your reward will be the best iced tea possible. ENJOY! Note: Adjust the sugar to suit you needs. I suggest you start with 1 1/2 cups. It is the amount I use for my tea but I don't like a real sweet tea nor do I like it more sharp. It's what I like..... you will adjust your own. ALSO..... DO NOT BOIL nor add boiling water like you would with a cup of tea. In this particular recipe... boiling will make a bitter tea. If you're a rather particular person....... I would bet the water temp in my recipe reaches 195 +-.
