I was craving mackerel patties. The local stores either did not have any canned mackerel on the shelves or the cost per can had me saying - ' I am not giving them that for that.' Ordered this. Made mackerel patties tonight and was truly impressed. The taste was mild (not too mackerely - is that a word?). The quality and quantity supported the recipe I used. The price was well within the budget. Needless to say, the patties were not like Momma's nor Grandmomma's - but what is:>) I don't plan on telling a lot of folks about this as they will order and the price may go up (just kidding)

I bought a can of this mackerel as a treat for my cats. I just had a little bit of it, crushed up into their wet pate food for dinner and they go crazy. I would definitely buy it again it does not have any bones and it’s easily to mash with a fork. It was a treat for my kitties.

I tried mackerel on a whim and I can’t believe what I’ve missed. Mackerel easily replaces high mercury canned tuna. Mackerel easily replaces mushy canned sardines. My favorite easy recipe is to mix mackerel, mayonnaise, lemon, salt and pepper. I add in some broccoli sprouts when I have some. Delicious and filling.

Puppy loves it! Beware of bones, only found one so far that was hard or unable to be consumed. It’s a good alternative to canned dog food! Just make sure to mush it up with your fingers first to check for bones.

Thanks! Each can holds about 4 mackerel, or 8 halves. For me that is enough for two meals, with 4 halves on each. The bones are crunchy and soft. They were not quite as fishy as expected which was good, I would say less fishy than a sardine or smoked herring. There was a little oil in the can that had naturally come from the fish, otherwise these are in water with a little salt. The cans are not that strong and may be a little dented, however, contents have not been affected.

The fish tastes good but there's a caveat. I had a gout attack after comsuming 6 cans. Mackerel has purine that can trigger gout.

It's very FISHY: I too received severely dented cans - even though they were double boxed. The boxes were like new - not even a scratch, so the cans must've been previously damaged before my Amazon shipment. What are the odds that both boxes had exactly nine severely damaged cans & 3 moderately damaged? Called Bumble Bee & they just had me spin my wheels sending them photos to prove it, but they never contacted me back. The inner boxes & cans say Bumble Bee, San Diego. But cans also say "product of China." Both Bumble Bee & Amazon are responsible & need to fix this unacceptable problem.
