I use only organic, fresh eggs. While I had learned how to make them stove top and immediately purge them in ice water after cooking to eliminate the sulphur ring around the yolk, fresh eggs just do not peel well. Until Instant Pot and this nice little silicone steamer that fits perfectly in the pot, that is. You can search online for a recipe, but simply it is place your eggs in this neat little steamer, lower it into the pot with one cup of cold water, pressure cook manually for six minutes and immediately release the pressure. Plunge the eggs on the silicone steamer into a previously prepare bowl of ice water for at least five minutes. Voila. Eggs peel perfectly and easily. I am sure i'll find other uses for this steamer, but with the handles pressed together as illustrated it fits perfectly into my 6 quart Instant Pot.

A great accessory for my Instant Pot. The pliable material fits it to a 'T'. I also like where you can lock the handles together to pull the hot food out.**Additional remarks: I've had this steamer for awhile now. I want to add a couple of additional pluses about it. It is so flexible and works well with the Instant Pot. I've used it to make steamed carrots as well as red cabbage. The water turns orange and purple respectively but the steamer remains green. Just rinse it off and you're ready to use it again. I don't see how you can go wrong wrong this this product.

I like this doesn't have anything but silicone -some similar designs have a hard plastic puck in the middle of the basket to help with stability-It seems well made, sturdy. Does not have an odor.The issue I have with it is that it is so thick, when you go to push it down into a pot, the steamer does not easily/uniformly bend, like those flimsy ones. It takes a lot more pressure to get it in there and you have to be really precise about putting equal pressure on all sides, or one edge will suddenly bend all the way and collapse down into the bottom of the pot. This is kind of hard to explain, but it makes it extra exciting if you boil the water first and then seat the steamer basket (exciting in a steam burn-y kind of way).

Its nice to have a handle on the steamer that I can actually reach. This isn't quite as adjustable as a metal steamer so you need a pot close to the right size. It is a bit flimsy when hot and I can't load in quite as much as in my metal steamer, but I do love that I can use this in my microwave where I do most of my cooking. It cleans well on top rack of the dishwasher.

It has its uses. It is very flexible, so isn't the best choice for holding something that shouldn't tip over. Sadly, I cooked stuffed peppers with tomatoes in the filling the first time out, so it is now stained. That is not the fault of the product and doesn't affect its utility. The handles are great for getting your cooked veggies out of the pot. Should be great for steaming carrots, potatoes and other veggies that won't tip over.

We own four Instant Pot Pressure/Multi Cookers. To make baked potatoes in the Instant Pot, you steam them for 35 minutes for XXL size potatoes. (less if they are smaller. The CookingBasics Silicone Vegetable Steamer fits perfectly in an InstantPot 6 Quart pot. Strong enough to hold large potatoes or lighter veggies etc. Most of all, is pure Silicone (has no plastic additives). The handles are great for getting your food in/out of the hot steamy pot. This is a must have for the avid InstantPot cook.

We chose this steamer over another silicone steamer offered here on Amazon because we mistakenly assumed the two were very similar while this one was much cheaper. But this one lies almost flat in our pot, spilling our steamed vegetables into the water when we try to lift the basket out, rather defeating the purpose of steaming. It should be less flexible and more bowl-shaped to keep vegetables trapped in its convexity. Now we're back to order the original steamer basket we'd saved on our shopping list. It costs more but is a better tool...

Great replacement for my old, metal expandable food steamer (like  100%Stainless Steel Steamer Basket Seafood Steamer, Food Steamer, Vegetable Steamer - 5.3" to 9.3" - Stainless Steel ,Pasta Steamer Folding Collapsible Basket for Various Size Pots by Timmy ), which was a pain to clean because it came apart so easily .A quick scrub is all this one needs, or just put it in the dishwasher.The bright green is a bit much, but it's in a cupboard most of the time, so who cares?
