This only has one dmx out. how does this control multiple lights that will be working master mode? i'm using showxpress and new to dmx.

You will set your light to a dmx channel range 1-512. Do not use master mode on your lights as in most cases that dusables the dmx control that you are wanting. The dmx controller is output and your lights should have dmx in and a dmx out to next light. Also, make sure that the lights you have are dmx lights and not master/slave. You should have ether a dip switch or digital display to set the dmx channel. If you do not have ether then you will need a dmx switchpack to control the light with dmx. Hope this is helpful.

How many lights will this control and what is a free software that does not require a license to use it?

It gives one universe of 512 channels. Depending on the number of channels each fixture takes will tell you how many units can be controlled. If you have a dimmer rack with one channel per light then you can control up to 512. If each unit takes up 13 channels you can have 39 fixtures plus a few channels left over. It won't work with Hog or MA but can probably work with the M-PC and other PC lighting consoles. The website has a list of compatible programs. Some of them are free.

Is this compatible with the dmxis software?

This products is compatible with other open sourced pieces of software. Not Compatible with DMXIS, that is a closed sourced interface, and software. DMXIS Interface works with DMXIS software only.

Brainless

Ovviamente fantastica e più piccola di come me la immaginavo (6x4x4). Viene spedito anche un cavo usb. Piccolo appunto: bisogna ricordarsi che in quanto "brainless device" ha bisogno che in ingresso vengano mandati i dati già protocollati, quindi non è utilizzabile con un programma che manda dati grezzi (Max MSP ad esempio). Nel mio caso la soluzione è stata mandarle i dati da un software compatibile (QLC+), che a sua volta riceveva le istruzioni dal primo programma menzionato. Spero che questo commento possa evitare sorprese a qualche altro Max user!

Great Adapter

Works well, beware of the software compatibility. This adapter will work with the Open DMX protocol. Make sure the app you want to use can support Open DMX, we are a software business so we ended up needing to write our own piece of software to send out DMX from the Unity Game Engine.

Game changer for my escape rooms
