I would actually look into an XL if I were you. If it doesn't fit you can always exchange. **Q: What does MD mean?** A: I bought the MD ..i figured it was medium and I weigh 142# and am about 5'5"...and it fit great- goes all the way to my bra and getting it on is a bit of a struggle, but if you don't scrunch it up like putting on hose, just slowly pull up sections of it at a time it goes on just a bit easier. once on it is very comfortable - it does not make those bulges disappear, but it controls them and makes you look firmer. However I had been growing my nails and had bio-gel on them. they were long and strong. consequently when I went to the bathroom and tried to pull my Spanx back up my nail went right through leaving a hole that laddered like a pair of tights!!!!
