Moen peened grab bars - 24 & 32in Both of excellent quality easy to install into STUDS, drill holes important to note. Drilled a 3.2mm as directed. Screws would not go through hardwood studs. I than drilled 4mm that worked fine. Hole drilled to length of screw. This through chip rock/plasterboard. Installing in tiled shower used 4mm through tile into hardwood stud. Installing first screw caused chipping in tile, re-drilled the hole through tile with 5mm bit. Worked perfectly. Also suggest using liquid/hard to lubricate screw. For wet areas, use silicone over screws to prevent water from entering holes in tiles.

We have used the MOEN bars before in the bathroom. Before my wife required knee replacement surgery, I installed the latest grab bar in the shower. I will install another MOEN grab bar in our bathtub area in an upstairs bathroom. They have a patented secure fastening system which utilizes the hidden wall studs. A simple stud finder will be useful for the installation. I am very pleased with this purchase hence the 5 star rating.

This grab bar is exceptional quality, I feel. I was extremely happy with the price and installation as well. I installed it on a diagonal, which worked really well beside two shallow steps into a bedroom. The studs in that wall happen to be 24 inch centers, and I was able to get all three screws on each end, into a stud, which makes it very solid and secure. One issue I did have, was two of the screws stripped. One I was able to remove with pliers (the other I was able to get out with the driver) and I had another couple of screws here that did the job. If there was any improvement that could be made, it would be to have better quality screws, or include a couple of extra screws. An excellent product, to increase one's sense of safety around the home.
