As a physician assistant student I found this book to be incredibly valuable. The content is thorough, practical, and clearly written by people who understand the real-world challenges of managing cardiac surgery patients. I appreciated how well it covered everything from pre-op assessment to post-op complications, especially topics like low cardiac output syndrome and the use of mechanical circulatory support. That said, I do wish the book included more diagrams and visual aids. Some sections are quite dense, and a few more illustrations or flowcharts would have made complex concepts easier to digest. It’s been a great addition to my study resources and one I’ll continue to reference throughout my training and early practice. Highly recommended for anyone involved in cardiac surgical care or wanting to learn more.
