Has to be hooked up to an electronic drum module to be amplified. It is not a drum pad for a child which is what you might want.

Is this compatible with Roland spd20?

First of all I'm assuming the spd20 is some type of hand triggered sound pad and as long as it has the standard NPT plug connection you should be able to pair it with a PD-85 drum pad using the same master head sound module. I hope this helps

Can i use this drum pad on an alesis sample pad 4?

Not sure - I have a Roland TDK30-Vpro set and only have Roland heads. You might contact Sweetwater Music or Guitar Center and ask their drum person.
