Hoodman 5 Foot Weighted UAV Drone Landing Pad fits Inspire 3, Inspire 2, Inspire 1, No Stakes Required, collapses to 1/3 of deployed size

I have both the medium and the large diameter version of these pads and though they seem pricey compared to many other choices, I haven’t regretted the purchase of either one iota. When I’m flying the little Mavic 3 Pro, the smaller pad is more than sufficient for my needs. The larger one gets used when I fly the big Matrice 210 V210. They are easy to see and are very helpful calibrating your RTH fix as you begin your flight. The cameras are able lock in on the contrast of this pad easily making pinpoint landings as easy as pie. I fly in dusty conditions more often than not, this pad really helps to keep my birds and the cameras free of unwanted debris which is a big deal to me, especially with the big drone and the high dollar optics onboard. The setup couldn’t be easier, just pull it from the well made nylong carry bag and it pretty much unfolds itself whether you’re ready or not! Getting it back in the bag is really easy once you figure out the method. I have a lot of portable photographic shades and difusers, but this uses a slightly different technique to fold it properly. So, read the instructions, or better yet, watch it done on a video and you’ll figure it out pretty quick. Otherwise you will look like a goober flailing about and attracting the unwanted attention of everybody from miles around. (Don’t ask how I know that) It’s super stable on the ground even in really gusty wind conditions - like the ones you probably shouldn’t be flying in - which is another advantage of it’s stout build and heavy weight. The very first portable drone/heli pad I tried blew away on me at the first wind gust. I didn’t even notice during flight, that’s how I ended up with these. Well made, rugged and easily visible from the air. It’s a really good choice if you’re serious about flying your drones and you’ll look more professional too.

I'm a relatively new drone pilot, having started flying in December 2020, and prefer to have a launch/landing pad to operate from versus rough-fielding it. Like many people, I tried to make do with cheaper/inferior designs, but the wind and terrain made that dicey at best. After reading reviews, and doing some research, I decided to order the Hoodman 3-foot landing pad. Cons: 1) It can be a bit fiddly to get back into the carrying bag. (Hoodman has a video showing the technique linked on their site.) 2) The shoulder strap could be a bit better. Add another 8-10" in length and possibly some sort of coating to keep it from sliding off the shoulder. (Note: I'm 6'4" tall so the strap length is likely to be fine for the average sized user.) Pros: 1) Exceedingly easy to set up. Pull it out of the bag and literally toss it on the ground. 2) Stays put in the wind. The weighted perimeter keeps it from blowing around without having to stake it in place. 3) Water-resistant. Keeps your drone off the damp grass and doesn't soak up the moisture like some of the folding designs do. 4) Highly visible from altitude. The safety orange, and the size, make it quite easy to see from a distance, especially from the drone's camera perspective. 5) Compact in the carry case. Small enough to keep in the back of my car so I don't forget and leave it at home. 6) Quality materials and thoughtful design. Unlike a few other pads I looked at, you can see and feel the quality and tell that the designers put some thought into this instead of just building a "me too" copy of other's designs in a race to the lowest price. This is probably the best accessory I've purchased for my drone so far. I'm not comfortable with launching from, and landing in, my hand, so the 3' Hoodman Landing Pad allows me to fly from locations that I normally wouldn't due to moisture, tall grass, and sand/dirt/dust. I ended-up getting the 3' version (versus the 2') for the extra weight and the larger "target". I fly a DJI Mavic Air 2 and there is plenty of space on the pad so you don't need to venture towards the edges and take a chance of clipping grass with the props or pulling dirt/dust into the motors.

You are getting what you're paying for with this pad. Really quality materials and great weight. It looks too large at first but when you set a DJI M30 on it, I think it's the right size. there is a good amount of pad left that will help with prop wash. Please don't give any credence to the video posted by Nova and North Wind Aerial, where he says pads are for dorks or geeks or something made to feel insulting. He is not flying a $14,000 drone. Dust has taken down manned aircraft, what do you think it can do to a tiny electrical motor? I included a photo of the bonus you get with this pad. The bag that it comes in can double as a pad for something like the Avata 2, how cool. I know North Wind, I've taken being a dork to the next level.

You get what you pay for. It has a rugged build, weighted so doesn’t fly away and folds into a compact case. Fits my Mavic 4 pro well

Don't let the price tag scare you. You might think you can do without this drone mat but if you fly professionally or travel to locations specifically to fly, photograph and film, but this is THE BEST quality you can find. The durable material feels like heavy canvas treated with some kind of moisture proofing. The weighted edges stay down in high winds and the bright orange color is easy to spot in any condition. It protects your drone and gimbal from fine dust, moisture, dirt, mud and tall grass. There's no doubt it will last. The only con is learning how to fold it properly. It takes some practice but it's so worth it!

This is the best drone landing pad made. The design and quality are amazing. Stupid easy to setup, easy to see on camera and it stays where you put it. These just plain old work. No stakes, no blowing around. The only questions what size you buy and how the heck you remember how to fold it up. ;-)

I like how compact it folds up and does not take much space. It is heavy enough to stay put. Highly recommend.

Fantastic value and a must for the Mavic 2 pro as it will prevent dust and dirt near the gimble. Fun to try and fold too.

I am a new drone pilot with a recently purchased DJI Min 5 Pro. This landing pad is one of the first accessories that was bought and, so far, I am quite happy with it. It is well made with a tough rubber/vinyl exterior and is heavy enough not to require pins to hold it on the ground. I am looking forward to many years of use.
