This is absolutely beautiful, and I will keep it because it's beautiful and soft to touch. For the purposes of being stood on and absorbing moisture it is completely useless. The padding is so shallow it almost feels harder than standing on a bare floor, and when wet it feels soaked in a bad way. I'll have to remember to switch the bathmat part out for my old, uglier one for actual showering purposes, because I really do love what it does for my bathroom visually. But if I'd been able to check it out in a brick-and-mortar store, I wouldn't have bought it. Or maybe just the lid cover.
