It was easy to set up (remember to use the key provided to remove the old return nozzle). I didn't read the instructions well and after re-reading them, realized what I needed to do. We use it to cool the pool water down; it works well. The pool was 92 degrees; I hooked this up, and 24 hours later it was 82 degrees. This is in the middle of summer, mind you. It has an adjustable flow meter, it works great, and no issues with it so far. The grandkids love getting sprayed and we love the water cooling down.

We’ve had quite the run on sunny, 90-degree-plus days here on the east coast (summer 2020). With water temps hitting 90 and 91 (according to the thermostat on my pool heater), I just had to try to cool the water just a little. It’s just not refreshing at 90. This device easily screwed into my standard 1.5” pool return. This contraption seems simple but the engineers did put some thought into the design. There is a ball joint that allows for plenty of adjustments. The most ingenious part is the adjustable valve—you can open or close a valve (which is a cut-out in the pipe under water) to force more water through the fountain or allow more water to flow out the side. This is a great feature because, as you will see in my videos, you can get 15’ or more out of this fountain. Of course, you could easily start emptying your pool if you’re not careful. As far as cooling the water, the water does feel cooler after it falls through the air for a few feet. If you let it run overnight, the difference is even more noticeable. Of course, this will depend on how much and at what speed you run your pump. Aside from the practical aspect of cooling the water a little, everyone loves it. And, it does add some charm and is a fun app for the kids. If you watch the video, it shows you the water flow with the side valve closed and my Hayward 1.75 hp variable-speed pump running at full power, closed valve—you can see why the adjustable valve is necessary. If you are running a single speed I would think full power blasting the water up 15’ plus with the adjustment valve closed is over kill. I tried to take the video with the trees in the background so you can really see the water. And, with the wind, at this height the pool deck was wet, so you would be wasting water. Of course, I run it with the valve partially open and the pump usually on medium speed, so the water flows just a few feet in the air. Anyway, great value and intelligent design make my latest random Amazon purchase a winner.

➤Update Aug 2024 It has lasted 4 pool seasons with no issues. One of our guests finally hit it and broke it off. It would still be working if that didn't happen...I'm on here to buy another one and just thought I would give you an update. Works great and the kids love it on those super hot days! ➤AESTHETICALLY, this sprayer adds a beautiful waterfall-type spray over the pool that not only looks great but adds a nice ambient sound if you are just lounging around the pool. We have a 2hp Pentair SuperFlo variable speed pump which makes it super easy to adjust just using the pump itself and the valves on our returns. ➤PLACEMENT/FIT We had to put it on the stair return because our other three returns were too far down and it wasn't tall enough to come out of the water. The only issue with that was seeing it as it's white and the stairs are white so we had to remind visitors that it was there. It is plastic so I don't think it would take much to break it if stepped on or hit. It is connected to our standard 1.5-inch returns with no extra parts needed. ➤QUALITY All of the adjustable collars work as they should. Whenever you get it where you want it, it stays. The water valve, even when fully closed still has some water come out of it but not a lot...there is no seal there so that is going to happen. It's just plastic on plastic so expect that. ➤ADJUSTABILITY You can really put some crazy angles on this thing if needed. Ours was pretty straightforward because of where I mounted it. I just needed it to shoot straight down the length of the pool. While we are swimming or lounging we just adjust it up and have it shoot the length of the pool. We turn one of the other 3 valves off so it forces more water to that return. We can also crank up the rpm on the pump to really get it shooting. 2 vales off and full rpm this thing will clear the other side of our 32-foot pool with ease. Be careful with crosswinds if you have this adjusted with any kind of height as you could be losing water out onto your deck or yard. When we are not swimming I adjust it down and turn the spray head back to shoot at the steps so it keeps our steps clean. ➤COOLING The absolute best time to use this is at night if you really want to cool your pool. Assuming that your temps drop at night. Even on a hot day (100's), we will run it during the day just to help it stay a bit cooler but the real magic happens when the air temp drops below the water temp. Yesterday was in the 100's. Last night we hit 80 overnight and I left it running all night and we dropped 12 degrees. Even on hot days you can stand under it and feel the slight difference in the water temp. Above ground, pools will lose heat faster than inground so bear that in mind. The above grounds are not insulated and this should work even better with that style pool. Inground will hold that heat in with ground insulation making it harder to cool. ➤COOL FACTOR Do not confuse this with how it cools but rather how cool it is to have. The kids and the grandkids love this thing. I'll be honest I stand under it quite a bit too and I'm 50 lol 17 bucks? that's pretty cheap to help cool your pool and also have something that everyone loves. If it lasts 2 summers it's worth it...its 17 bucks. 5 stars from me...for 17 bucks I would buy it over again if needed and have recommended it to several friends already.

This is important to note.. When I first removed the fitting for the jet, I was left with a piece that had male threads on it. None of these pieces fit. I looked at Lowes for something to modify it. Nothing fit. I looked up the pieces of a jet and found a video that showed that the jet actually consists of 3 pieces and the piece with the male threads needed to be removed. It was easy to unscrew leaving the true 1 1/2" opening with female threads. This sprayer screwed right in. If you close the flow adjuster all the way, this thing with spray into the neighbors yard. Lol And, it cooled my pool down 5° overnight. My pool is in sun for most of the day so I'm excited to see if it will keep the water cool all summer. Definitely worth the money. Super easy to install and adjust
