perfect for camping, easy to use, light weight
We invested in this unit to use during my daughter‘s Girl Scout camping events. The cabin is approximately 150 ft.² of open space, it’s working out perfectly for us. totally worth the price tag! It’s extremely easy to use, The manual; very user-friendly and easy to understand. We freeze ice packs overnight, add water to the unit and right away we aee cooling the small cabin very easily. (On its highest setting) within 10 minutes it provides a comfortable temperature. it also provides a gentle wind, which is very comforting. The timer also comes in handy more than I anticipated. we can set it to turn on a few minutes before we return, helping to save constant trips the fountain for water. This cooler is amazingly quiet, it doesn’t bother us at all while we sleep, it’s lightweight which is terrific for transporting every weekend. it’s slim, Compact design saves us so much space, compared to the portable air conditioner that we used last year, this Choice is so much more practical for camping. over the past month it has also come in handy When my aunt visited, for her allergies to pollen. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase, I have already recommended it to other fellow campers in the troop! totally worth the price!

It does exactly what it says it will do
I had this unit for a few weeks now. I purchased it to bring down the temperature of just one room in my house, which faces the hot afternoon sun of So Cal. I do have central A/C, but only that one room gets very hot during the summer. I was hoping this unit would cool the room, as other reviewers have reported, in order to save some energy costs. I was disappointed to find out that it does not even with ice added in the water tank. At first, I thought about giving it a low rating and returning the unit, but then I realized that the manufacturer makes no claim about bringing down the temperature of a room. Only that it is an evaporative cooler. So, here are my impressions after a few weeks of use, in no particular order. * Everything works exactly as described. Read the product features to find out if this is for you. * There is a small water pump at the bottom of the water tank. That is to say, an electric wire runs into the water tank. I assume the design and manufacturing team took proper precautions to prevent any fraying of the wires so that it does not cause a short or an electric shock. * If you live in a humid area of the country, this unit is not for you. It does an amazing job of adding moisture to the air. I thought about returning the unit, but I bought it during the Prime Day sales and there were some other incentives thrown in, so I’ll keep it and use it as a humidifier during the winter when the humidity drops. * It does not bring down the temperature in my hot room, but the airflow it generates is quite pleasant. Don’t expect a full blast of air that is generated by a typical 3-blade fan. With the “cooling” function turned on, I do feel cooler as long as I’m sitting in the airflow zone, and it is not the dry blast of air that is generated by a typical 3-blade fan. * The 40° oscillation feature is not very useful. The gray ring rotates slowly left to right, but it really does not direct the air coming out by that much. * It is fairly quiet at the lowest fan level. Highest fan level is too loud to have on when I’m trying to fall asleep. * It does nothing as an air filter. How do I know? After running this unit almost non-stop for a few weeks, the filter in the back is still clean as day one. * I wish the water tank was larger. * The material used feels cheap. Good news is that it is lighter than it seems, so it is easy to move around. Bad news is that if you drop it, including the remote control, I think it will break. I’m not planning on doing a drop test.

Not an efficient way to cool off!
I have used this product for several months now. It does cool you off in a chair but it is not the same as an air conditioner or a swamp cooler. I have not noticed that it brings the temperature down much in any of my rooms. It does increase the humidity which can make a room seem hotter than it is. I do like how quiet it is and the features of changing the speed and direction of the concealed and safe fan. I like the timer settings. I rarely use it just as a fan. It sits up off the ground, is compact, lightweight and well designed. It is easy to move and easy to use. The air is just cool not cold when you use the ice block in the water basin. I use this unit when the temperature exceeds 80 degrees in the house. I don't find it convenient to use the remote because there are no LED indications as to what is being adjusted when using it except noticing the fan speed change or the power going on or off. The bright blue LED lights on the main unit control panel make it very difficult for me to see the description of what I am adjusting. They blind my vision from seeing text descriptions next to it. We should have invested in a swamp cooler.

Great as a personal cooling device in an office or bedroom
I've been using this for a little over a week here in LA, and have been quite happy with the unit's performance. It's footprint is pretty small considering the unit goes up to my waist. Even so it is light enough to move around with one hand, even with the tank full of water (although be careful so that you don't spill any on accident). Like with all evaporative coolers, its effectiveness will depend on your environment's humidity. Using my indoor thermometer, the unit when on can cool the room by about 1°, but can also increase the humidity by about 7% over the course of a few hours. However if you sit right in front of it, it is a very nice cooling breeze. In other words, this is really a personal cooling device as opposed to an AC that cools the entire room down. The fan direction is also adjustable both up and down and left and right, and the sleep timer works well as well. The only surprise was that, depending on the water level and how much the water pump is working, you may hear water droplet sounds within the machine (similar to those zen garden water fountains). Overall the unit is quiet but just know that it's not just fan sounds that you will hear. If you're in a relatively dry environment, this is a great and easy to operate unit!

Good overall, but it’s NOT a cooler
This is a very good personal fan. The noise is quiet, and the oscillation is well designed. However, if you’re looking to actually cool down a room, look elsewhere. The evaporative cooler makes the air FEEL slightly cooler, however it does little to actually cool a room even in an arid climate. In a 10’x14’ bedroom it’ll take it from 85F to 83F, but only if you start with water that was previously cooled, and an ice pack. That being said, the fan itself works well, and the remote is a nice touch. The controls on the machine itself are very responsive to the touch, and the sleep mode does a good job of shutting the unit off after a given amount of time. If you are looking for a unit that will make the air feel slightly cooler, and can afford the price for slight temporary relief from the heat, you can do much worse.

Blows strong, looks cool!
We first got this and instantly thought it looked sleek and modern, its fun that there’s a big hole in it! But then we turned it on and it made noise but we felt no air moving at all. So we thought maybe we had it set up wrong, couldn’t figure it out. So we thought maybe it was defective so we requested a replacement. They sent one right away and UPS picked up the defective one on our porch. Got the new one a couple days later and it works great!!! We live in Oregon so it’s not super humid or super dry, it’s somewhere in the middle and it blows hard and cold! They send you with two ice packs you fill with water, freeze and put in the compartment. One thing I love about it is that once you put the setting (cold, oscillate, high medium or low fan speed), the blue lights turn off after a few seconds so if you sleep with it on all night, it won’t be another light on at night messing with your sleep. Also its not heavy at all so you can easily move it from the living room for the daytime and back to the bedroom for night. ALSO there is no possibility of any babies getting their fingers cut by blades because there are none accessible! We have very curious 1 and 3 year olds so that’s a huge plus. Also since the fan is down below (or something, I don’t exactly understand how it works but that’s ok), you can put it right up against the wall with no negative effect on air flow. Its small and sleek and the customer service was great and so easy to deal with!!! Definitely glad we bought it and I will be recommending it to my friends who don’t want a big bulky air conditioner unit that has to be hooked up to a window!!

Works excellent even in extreme weather
We converted our garage into a play/hangout room and realized, because there is no insulation, it gets extremely hot with limited airflow from the AC inside the house. We purchased this cooler specifically for this reason and we have loved every minute of it. With record temperatures this summer it has been a lifesaver. We have been using this unit for several hours at a time and the only thing we really need to do with it is to add the ice packs that come with it and ice cubes to the water to help with the cooling during the extreme heat. The fan is not very noisy at all and it is actually very quiet when we have the TV on watching movies or sports. There is one quirk with it which is not a big deal, but when we are sitting on the couch watching a movie and we put the fan in front of us it shoots the air slightly over our head from straight on. I have found a fix that requires me putting a piece of cardboard (see attached pictures) hanging over the top which causes the air to blow perfectly on us. There is a setting that allows the fan to oscillate left and right but nothing to have it oscillate up and down. This is a small price to pay for the excellent cooling it provides. For cooling off a room I highly recommend this product.

Good quality, quiet and efficient
I've had this cooler working in my home office now for about six weeks now. It's a nice looking unit, quieter than most other evaporative coolers I've had, and gets the job done. I live in a desert environment and my home office window faces the southern sun, which means that when I close the door to take a phone call, it can get stifling hot even when the home A/C is on. This little unit lowers the temperature in the room noticeably and with very little background noise. Even when I am using the computer speakers and microphone (like a speakerphone) I have never had any issues with too much noise from the cooler. Overall, really, really good. Something that I've found I like that isn't obvious is that the fan design on this actually disperses the cool air more than a tower fan design. This means that if the fan is right in front of you you don't get dry eyes from the fan blowing at you, but the room is still cool. And the motion of the swing feature is extremely subtle but works incredibly well. One items that I would love to be a bit better is the water filling process. For one, like other reviewers have noted, filling the water reservoir from the back of the unit makes for a sleek front of the unit, but it also means that you are potentially moving the unit around in order to get to the reservoir in the back. Additionally, there is no fill line in the reservoir itself and seeing the level through the peek thru window in front usually means you don't know it's over-full until you already over filled it. But hey - one or two times and you get to figure out how full to fill it, so this is a minor annoyance when the unit is still new. Overall, a really great room cooler for the price and it looks different than anything you have ever had.
