The force produced by the Aquafins is dependent on several variables. The amount of drag determines the force. The more surface area of the fins in contact with the water, the more resistance. Therefore, changing the orientation of the fins will change the drag. Faster motions underwater also produce more force.

Not quite sure I understand what you're asking. I have used elastic resistance for rehabbing after shoulder decompression surgery. I think with elastic resistance it's more about building endurance on a lower resistance scale. With aquatic resistance you can challenge yourself on the endurance end and if you increase your speed you have to isolate more control in your target muscles in conjunction with increasing the intensity. I am looking for added resistance to my running in the water after knee replacement. Do these work well or are ankle water weights a better idea?

They are perfect. I've had the knee job and not only can you run with them on your ankles but put them on your arms and do a bunch of exercises for them as well. I put them on my arms and try to run with my arms outstretched Go both forward and backwards then do quick reversals forward and back after a couple of steps in each direction. Just what you need
