**Q: Does it filter out parasites, heavy metals, viruses?**
A: Parasites yes, if they are larger than 0.1 microns.
Viruses and saturated heavy metals, no. Viruses need a filter that has much smaller membranes, like a 0.02 micron. Metals need something that will absorb them from the water rather than a membrane filter.

**Q: Does it remove heavy metals from water?**
A: I haven't tested it yet as I have it packed in my emergency kit. The packaging says that it is specifically for spring water or water that is not heavily contaminated, so I would probably not use this for that in an emergency but if you were camping and needed clean water you should be ok. So I am planning on using it for a redundant backup for the water purifier pills I bought.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Water Filter

Bought this to turn into a gravity filter. Worked like a charm! Pics are from my trial run before my backpacking trip. Poked a small hole in the side of the dry bag, screwed tight the little plug, attached the hose and filter, and then let the water flow! No leaks, or problems with the water filtering. The dry bag is 10 L (which I purchased from Amazon as well for about $13). Typical pre-assembled gravity bags will run you $75+. This filter and the bag cost me less than $35. For those who might question why I put the hose on the side (rather than in the bottom) it's because the water you're using might have silt or other things in it (especially if you're getting it from a lake or river) - these will eventually settle below the plug line - and is just one less thing your filter has to deal with. You'll get slightly less usable water....but less obstructions or problems with the filter and hose.
