Could not be happier with the purchase
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. While it is still early, our experience with the GeekPro EOV1 RF action cam has been extremely exciting. When looking for a less expensive alternative to the very competent GoPro cameras we decided to try the GeekPro after going through countless reviews and watching numerous YouTube videos; so far we could not be happier with the purchase.Setup was quick and painless, charge the camera’s battery, download the Ez iCam app from Google Play to our Samsung Galaxy 7 phones, connect the camera to the app (one click), strap on one of the many included mounts and go out and play.We initially shot about an hour of video and ran in through Adobe Premiere Elements 14. We found the video quality to be extremely impressive; the colors were vibrant, the focus was sharp with only minor vignetting around the corners when shot at 1080p 60fps.Conclusion: GeekPro offers a great low priced alternative for those looking for a waterproof digital camera that is perfect for dirty, wet or submerged environments. This affordable alternative to the GoPro camera offers everyone the ability of taking underwater video or photos and comes with a handy wrist strap to operate the 2.4G wireless RF remote control. The GeekPro EOV1 even includes a portable carrying case that will come in handy through the years. We will be updating this review when we return from the lake in a couple of days.

Great progress!
I bought this camera before a vacation trip that included snorkeling. Excellent results!I own an older GoPro2, a GeekPro 2 and a GeekPro 2 Plus. I had found that the GeekPro2s have a small edge over the GoPro2.But that GeekPro EOV1 is much better. I ended up using it for 99% of my pictures/videos. The few I took with the previous generation cameras were ok but disappointing in comparison. Here is the classic Pros/Cons list:Pros:1- As noted above, the results pictures/videos are very good. The snorkeling pictures/videos are superb.2- All accessories compatible with the design set by GoPro.3- Better hinge than the GeekPro2. I had no problem opening/closing.4- Very decent battery life. I did not time it but I was able to shoot pictures for hours without thinking about it. Of course videos are draining the battery much faster.5- ~$130 that was a reasonable price for all you get (case, remote, some accessories, charger...).6- I do not have real statistics for that claim, but it seems that I had a lot less water drop issues on the lens than with other cameras. I had many ruined pictures in the past because a drop of water was just in the center of the image. This time was much better with the EOV1.Cons (or wish list for the next generation):1- Three times the camera locked while attempting to shoot videos at 4K resolution. It was solved by a camera restart. Still a bug somewhere? No problem at 1080p60.2- My old Gopro2 do the same, these cameras can become very hot! The heat by itself is not a huge issue, but then you have fog in the water proofed case.3- I have tried but not found usage for the remote. I understand that it would be difficult to have it operational under water, but it would be great if it was at least water resistant. Think water sports (sailing, windsurfing,...).4- Attempting to watch the 1080p60 videos on a PC was less trivial than I hoped. VLC, Picassa and the default W10 player did not handle the video well. The older Windows Media player worked.5- The geekpro series of camera starts being confusing... The GeekPro, GeekPro_Pro and now the GeekPro EOV1 seem to be overlapping quite a lot and it made my purchasing decision not trivial. I almost went for the new GeekPro_Pro 4 for its 720p120 capabilities. BTW, the GeekPro2 batteries have a different form factor that the EOV1 ;-(6- Finally I hope that these cameras progress in low light conditions. The shoots by daylight are great, but the evening/night ones are barely usable. Maybe the new Sony IMX377 sensor will make it in a future GeekPro camera?Overall I definitely recommend this camera. If you need low light and/or very fast 720p240 capabilities, you might need to wait for the next generation...

Fantastic Action Camera!
I ordered this camera for a few reasons. One, I like the idea of GoPro but didn't want to spend the money, a comparable GoPro is near $400. That being said this is a great value for the money. Two, I wanted a camera I could take on trips. I recently went on vacation to Mexico and it was awesome taking the camera into the ocean and swimming pool. For a camera this size it takes very nice pictures and video. I was happy with the results. The only thing that was an issue, was water drops on the lens of the housing. This will happen to any camera you take into the water, but I wasn't paying attention and I had some photos that were affected by water droplets. Not a big deal, just something to note.Three, this relates to going on vacation, if I had lost the camera I would only be out a third of what a GoPro Hero Silver costs. One last thing to note. I think this will probably pertain to most action cameras, low light is not necessarily a strong suit for this camera. Daytime and underwater are crystal clear, but when the lighting is inadequate the photos will be slightly fuzzy. IMO, not a huge deal.Overall I am very happy with the purchase, I would have no problem recommending this to someone looking for a GoPro alternative.
