Is XL equivalent to size 16?..

I bougt two sizes. M-10, and L-12. In this case XL seems like size 14.

I don't know exactly but I can tell you that I am 5ft 4 and whilst they are slightly long they are acceptable, so anyone up to perhaps 5,6 or 7 would be fine, over that they may be a bit short and if you are under 5,3 you would need to take them up
