LAURA GELLER Baked Double Take Powder Foundation, Matte Finish – Fair

This LAURA GELLER NEW YORK Baked Double Take Powder Foundation is my favorite powder foundation right now. It is light and easy to apply, but also provides pretty good coverage. It evens out my skin tone well without looking like I'm wearing too much makeup. It is just a natural finish that dulls shine and provides a good base for my powder blush and highlighter. It doesn't settle into lines or look cakey, and it wears well through the day. I love it!

I’m absolutely loving this powder foundation. I’ve never tried a powder foundation because I assumed there was no way it would work as well as liquid. Boy was I wrong. I put it on at 10am this morning. It’s now after 11pm and my makeup still looks fresh and as if I just put it on. It hasn’t worn off at all! Further, I have very oily skin and often apply powder several times a day. But I haven’t needed to apply powder even once today. Even my nose has remained oil free.I put it on dry at first, then put the other half on wet - but I didn’t really notice a difference either way, so I’ll probably apply it dry from now on.The coverage is awesome and gives an even, matte finish on my skin while lightly covering some sun spots I have on my face. And the color is a perfect match to my light, but slightly tanned skin.Today is the first time I’ve used it, but so far I am blown away and wish I’d tried it years ago. The price is a tad high if you’re on a budget, but it’s well worth it now that I’ve used it. I’ll be curious to see how long it lasts though. Regardless, I highly recommend and am super happy with this purchase.

I usually can’t use any powder formulation (setting powder or foundations) on my face due to texture (sun damage) and late 40s skin. I have extremely reactive skin and nowadays can only use a few different liquid foundations that don’t irritate it, but they are all matte finish which I don’t like anymore because they settle into texture and make it look worse.So I figured I’d try this just to see since it was on sale. I am very pleasantly surprised. It lasted all day, and it did not settle into my texture anywhere near as much as the liquid foundations do. It also provided nice coverage and evened out my skin tone (I have a lot of redness and brown spots).My skin is also very dry, which is another reason I can’t use powders usually. But this one just goes on nicely. I like that it feels much lighter on the face than a liquid foundation too. I did use a kabuki brush because it made it go on smoother than the sponge that comes with it.

I really wanted to like this powder foundation, but initially had some issues. I’ve worked with it for about a week and a half now and I found that applying it with a brush on DRY skin works best for me. If my skin is even slightly damp or the primer/lotion I am using is still damp on my face I had all the problems other people mention- poor application, blotchy application, streaky application, etc. I wouldn’t even dream of using this powder wet! 🫣 So, first I recommend applying it on dry skin with a brush. The powder is light and you can easily build the coverage to your liking. Having said that, here are a few words about its promise not to settle in fine lines… it DOES settle into fine lines, however I wear light coverage and it isn’t a huge issue for me. Those women who prefer full coverage may find this a problem. Overall, I like the product, but there is a bit of a learning curve and I probably wouldn’t pay full price to purchase it again…

This quality makeup replaces liquid foundation and power so it saves money, time and space. It doesn't come with a brush, I have a Laura Geller retractable one that works well, you can control how much makeup you apply by how far you extend the bristles. It is a full size product, it lasts longer than I expected. It has a good matte full coverage finish. It doesn't dry my skin, has a smooth soft texture, however if I put too much on wrinkles are noticeable. In other brands I can go with darker shades but I can't go darker than medium, when choosing color look at the model as opposed to the makeup color for a better match. Super easy to use, smells good, not perfumed or medicinal.

I purchased this after buying the balance powder to use with it. This product gives you a better foundation coverage without adding too much orange, so it's good to use as base if you are trying to cover something. The light color of this product is much lighter than the light in the balance product so this one works well for me in winter months but is too light for me in summer. The opposite is true from the balance product that looks too dark/orange if I use it in winter (unless using very lightly). In summer though the balance product blends perfectly with my skin and doesn't look overly orange, so preferred product depends on season. I like the lack of scent in this and how great it is for adding some light coverage versus a heavy liquid foundation.

A lot of good and there's a lot of not so good. It does cover. I am 73 and I have brown spots. I can't expect a quick rub to cover them, and I don't, but you have to put on several layers. When you put on several layers you look like something out of a'20s horror flick. It was on so thick that it went into every wrinkle and the lines were more pronounced than I'm used to. I was pleased with the color, please with the coverage basically except for I had to use too much. This would be great for photos because it's so matte and powdery. I have dry skin to start with and this just made it worse. I'm sure it will work for others but it wasn't great for me. I hope nobody got too close to me because it looks like you could take a fingernail and scrape it. I think it was a nice try from Laura to do a full coverage, we needed it because the other stuff is too thin, but now I don't think I will buy it again. As I look in the mirror it is showing wrinkles more than ever instead of just adding color and cover to my skin. By the way I am a print model and not generally filled with wrinkles or terrible skin, so I was hoping this would be the magic I needed. I'm afraid I will have to go back to my liquid that is much smoother and much lighter. I'm disappointed because I really hope this would be my go-to product but as I sit here in the mirror I can see that I look like Norma out of Sunset Boulevard with too much makeup.

Covers my rosacea well without looking overly made up. Stays in place most of the day. Great variety of shades at reasonable price to allow for temporary skin changes due to suntan.

A great product coverage good and doesn’t make your skin dry

Finally found a good powder foundation. Goes on smoothly. Stays for 8 plus hrs once you set with a setting spray. Sensitive skin approved. Mature oily skin approved. I am 50 plus with a very oily skin and it works amazingly. APPROVED👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love this, it gives great coverage without being too heavy. It doesn't sit in fine lines either. Only slight downside is it doesn't last all day; however its easy to carry about for reapplication due to the small size and the mirror is a bonus! Highly recommend.

A stand out foundation. Use it every day.
