Once you push the pipe into this fitting you will feel it "pop" or "slip" into the seat where it becomes watertight. If its sitting right, you should not be able to pull this pipe out, nor should there be any leakage from it. **Q: Can you control the speed of water flow through this valve?** A: I don't see why not. For my use, it's only open or closed. You would actually be controlling the amount of flow not the speed. **Q: Does this value have or require a california proposition 65 warning for california residents? thanks!** A: Prop65 applies to any material, the warning is required even if a trace amount of over 1000 substances from the Prop65 list maybe present.
