You don't need a grounding spot. 1. Make sure it is off. 2. Connect cables to unit. 3. Connect positive and negative to battery. 4. Turn on. 5. Start car. To remove reverse process. If you connect and then turn it on there is no risk of a spark so you don't need a grounding spot.

So this should jump a 5.0L Ford truck correct?

I started my Ford F-350 6.8L V10 twice and it was still 75% charged. This was at 8500 feet temp about 10F. I love this little thing!
