if you travel a lot you need this
Its one of them things in your traveling fist aid kit, that you hope you never have to use, but when you do your very grateful you have it, very small with no weight to it at all, very easy to use, its very small and take up no room, fits into a zip pocket of a hold suitcase or hand luggage very easy, it will help to stop most issues with your teeth, on holiday, so you can get on with your holiday, until you can find a dentist to fix the issues properly, if you travel a lot you need this, trust me its worth it, and its very cheap.

Worked well for me - might be tricky depending on your cavity
Seems good. I first used 24 hours ago, and still holding strong. Will see how it progresses. I suspect how well this adheres/sticks to the tooth from other reviews depends on where/the shape of the filling you're trying to plug. Mine is in a molar, on the top and has quite a crevice to latch into. I suspect it would be harder to shape and keep it held in for a cavity on the side of the tooth or an awkward spot that doesn't have anything to "hook" into. Tastes just like the stuff they use when filling in the dentists. Very mild, slightly antiseptic sort of flavour. Not bothersome, just a very slightly medicinal clay-esque tone. Followed instructions - chipped a small amount off the block, rolled between fingers to make a ball, then plugged into tooth with finger. Used the tool to push as deep as possible and scrape off excess. A little fiddly but not too bad. Combination of fingers and the tool seemed to work. Kept my mouth open a minute or two before closing teeth down to shape a couple of times. Wipe off any excess with a tissue or a little bit of cotton wool. Think the two in this dual pack will last ages. Pain has reduced since filling and it seems to be holding reasonably well, which is the most positive aspect. Update: held strong for weeks. Key is to follow the warm water instructions - rinse the tooth and your mouth with warm water. Don’t dry it. When you shape the ball, apply some warm water to your fingers. The warm water dampening helps it solidify and stick more. If you miss this step it won’t fit or stick as well.

Worked well for me. Just follow the instructions and it's really good.
Very good. The top snapped off my lower front tooth, not due to decay, but due to injury, it left a inside of the tooth exposed and I could feel sharp edges and my tongue kinda getting suctioned onto it. I was concerned that bacteria and food could get in and damage the tooth, so I was quite worried, and it happened on a Sunday morning when no dentist was available, so I thought I'd try this. I scooped a small amount out, made a ball in my fingers, and then pushed it into the hole and smoothed off the sharp edges, it set within a few hours and it hasn't moved in over a week. I went to the dentist who praised my efforts using this, and decided leave it in there until I get my appointment for a professional filling next week. Overall I'm very impressed. As long as there's no decay and infection, and it's got some rough edges to cling to, this will definitely do the trick.

Temporary fix that actually works, but not perfect
I bought the DenTek Temparin Max kit after losing a filling unexpectedly, and I have to say it did the job better than I expected. The putty molds easily and sets relatively quickly, giving immediate relief and allowing me to eat and drink without constant pain. It’s reassuring to have something on hand for emergencies like this. That said, it’s definitely a short-term solution. The texture isn’t exactly smooth, and you can feel it when chewing, so it doesn’t fully replace a real filling. Also, the instructions could be a bit clearer for first-timers — I had to read them a couple of times to get the timing and placement just right. Overall, it’s a handy kit to keep in the bathroom or travel bag for emergencies, but I wouldn’t rely on it for more than a few days before seeing a dentist.

Product recently seems to have changed for the worse
The last two purchases of this product, September and November 2025, have been absolutely useless. The product itself felt different, much harder and less malleable than previously, and it did not bond with the tooth, simply falling out whole within maximum 48 hours, often sooner, despite avoiding chewing on it (this was in the same position where a previous temporary filling made from an older batch of this same product had stayed put for several weeks). Bought this product several times since 2017, just-in-case. When needed it used to work very effectively - once we figured out the best way to use it, last thing at night to allow to set fully. Depending what it was used for it could stay in place for weeks, sometimes longer, and held up to normal eating and vigorous brushing before gradually crumbling away. The putty also remained effective for many months after the little pot was opened. Note: re-purchased in November assuming product bought September was a faulty batch, it hadn't been needed until October as we still had a bit of product left from previous purchase January 2024 which worked as expected. The two recent purchases are from different batches, so perhaps the manufacturer has changed the formula. If so then it's no longer a viable choice.

Great in a pinch - or dystopian nightmare.
Thanks to Covid destroying my local dentist, leading to early retirement and my being without a dentist for 5 years, I’ve had to adapt. And this stuff is super easy to use, takes about a half hour to set in place and will absolutely wear down over time, but it has also helped me avoid a lot of pain whilst sitting on NHS waiting lists 20-30 miles away from my home town.

Good stuff, easy to use.
Second time I've bought it. I have one rear tooth that had a massive filling in it that I've had problems with for years. Typically - I went for an NHS check up, everything was fine apart from the £60 I had to pay to see the hygienist, and then a month later this filling came out! I wasn't going to go back and pay another £60 so soon, so I bought some of this a couple of years back. Although the tubs are tiny I got a years worth of replacement filling out of just one of them. I think the only reason it kept coming out is because I chew my pen on that tooth and the missing filling was so big that even the dentist couldn't fill it properly when I eventually went to see her. (I was also getting through a lot of Pringles so that was a lot of chewing!) The dentist used Ketac which is the proper dentist version of the same thing because there wasn't enough tooth left for a proper filling. That lasted a year and just came out so I've used this again until I can get to see the dentist. It's really easy to use, though I didn't use the little tool that came in the packet, I found it easier to use my finger. I recommend using it after brushing your teeth last thing at night so that it has a good few hours to set properly while you sleep. It sets very quickly but tends to come out if you eat on it too soon.
