Toukiden: Kiwami PS4 - the BIG screen!
This is a pretty cool game. You can hunt monsters. Quests can be repeated. It follows the same recipe as many other Japanese RPG's in that you collect MANY monster drops. Most of the drops are useless and can be sold for cash. Drops are need to upgrade and construct all of the weapons and armors in the game. Battles are fun. However, the battlefield graphics are pretty bare. This is no way like Evolve! It is VERY similar to Ragnorak Odyssey Ace. These two games are almost clones of each other. While ROA has Cards that can be equipped for better stats, Kiwami has traditional weapons and armor. Also, after finishing a combo attack the warrior STOPS TOTALLY. This allows the monsters to get in a nice WHAM! on your warrior. I have no idea why a swordsman would STOP moving totally while in a lethal duel, but it happens in many of these fighting games. You can't even move while the warrior is 'recovering' from the combo. It only last a second or so, but is way different than, say, playing any Dragon Age game.Still, the graphics are nice, if a little bare. Fighting is fun and combos can be performed. I have difficulty with combos because I can never remember them but they are neat when I pull them off.Monster graphics are improved over most Japanese games of this type.I have never played Monster Hunter so I can't make any comparisons between Toukiden and MH. I play on a BIG screen only. Yay!Toukiden: Kiwami is a great game. It has a lot of depth and many battles to fight. Too bad it uses subtitles and is not in English. Good Game.

Cool bosses, neat concept and lots of action
Played the game yesterday when I received my copy. Here's a few things about the game:The focus here are the bosses, and it's really awesome when you're fighting them, because the action gets intense. There is no difficulty level you can change, but I've noticed that each chapter/boss has stars associated to it to represent how difficult it is.Each boss also unlocks new armor/weapons you can create/craft in the blacksmith. Takes a bit of farming the boss again if you want to be able to craft all the weapons/armor, but it's not anything too difficult, yet. The stronger the boss the more rare the materials are to get the weapons/armor from it.Your character doesn't progress, so it isn't a RPG in the traditional sense, but your armor and weapons do, so the more materials you collect, the stronger your gear gets. There are things called Mitama, which are spirits you can attach to your weapon to add more skills to it and you can level them up as the game goes on. Don't know how many they are to collect in the game, but I've noticed that they unlock when you defeat certain enemies, even if you go back to farm the same enemies or bosses, you can unlock a new one. Happened to me twice. You also get to choose which weapon you want to start out with, followed by a tutorial that shows how to use each weapon, and going by memory, there are at least 10 to choose from. You can change weapons anytime during the game if you don't like the first one you chose.Graphics look good and it runs pretty smooth, even when fighting the bosses. Dialogue is in Japanese with English subtitles. There was no way to switch it to all English.Good game if you want to play something similar to Monster Hunter, like Japanese games and love to fight bosses.Hopefully they consider making a sequel developed for the PS4 with better graphics, since this one is a port of the VIta one, but it looks just as good as other PS4 games.
