How can this unit provide an evacuation function but the unit does not accurately measure microns and requires a separate micron gauge?

I don't know I would think so you would have to ship it back to were you bought it .

Do the games measure microns? or is the separate probe a must?

It will measure microns internally though the hoses. The probs only measure line temps. I have the wireless versions and the kit comes with the micron sensor
