My daughter wanted to have some kind of wooden toy building kit for her 10th birthday party, so we needed 12 items for a mix of boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 10. I was amazed at how expensive many wooden toy kits are, despite many poor reviews talking about them falling apart, having cracked wood pieces, etc. Then I saw these 3 packs from Melissa and Doug. I've found they typically have good products, and these definitely added to that good reputation! Each vehicle in the pack of 3 is a self contained unit with everything you'll need - glue, paint, brush, stickers. The vehicles were easy to assemble, and the stickers were a nice addition to the paint because the younger children who weren't as good at the painting could just put stickers on and have a pretty good looking result. The glue that came with them is just Elmer's. We did have to glue the wheels first, then wait while that dried before painting and putting stickers on. Fortunately, the party was long enough for all that. If you have a shorter time frame, you might want to pre-glue the wheels. As a bonus, since each kit comes packed in it's own wooden tray, it was easy to send each kid home with left over paint/stickers and their toy, even though the paint wasn't dry yet. The kids all liked them a lot!!

These are awesome to give out as birthday goodie bags. Instead of cheap little toys and candy, this is something creative the kids loved.

Really unique and fun. Unless you get the glue just right the wheels may not turn. One of my three kits was missing a paint brush.

I bought these as a gift for a 6 year old who loves painting, building, & cars! One year later and the child still actively plays with these cars! I’d say they were a great, budget friendly gift!

We love all things Melissa & Doug and this one did not disappoint. Kept my toddler busy and it turned out great. Does have small pieces so keep a close watch when using with young children.

My nephew received this for Christmas. He loved building and painting his sets. He loved the stickers to decorate as well. Perfect for kids that like art!

Becareful as the pain included is not washable and will stain clothes. Was overall a great activity

He couldn't wait to paint them and loves that there is enough paint to do them again later. Held his attention well; the only issue was wanting to play with them while still wet. On a zoom call since we have had fun with him running the toys around the family room and grandpa providing the sound effects making him giggle
