It should be used while your hair is at a longer length (while your wolfing) to help lay your hair down. The Wave and Scalp Butter is a lighter product. It has hold to it but not as much and it can be used at any length your hair is at. I recommend only using the Wolfing Pomade when you absolutely have to and use a small amount. I bought a can in December and I still have more than than half. **Q: Does this product help lay your hair down?** A: God bless. Let me ask you this: what is the length of your hair. How often are you willing to brush your hair. And your hair texture. You don't have to answer me back. When I started using Cold Label premium my hair length was about a medium cut in length.
