What are the lengths of these loppers at their unextended and fully extended lengths? I'm surprised this info. is not given.

The arm unextended is 18" long. Extended the arm is 31 and 1/2" inches The distance from the near end of the handle to the centrer of the cutting edge is 6 and 1/2 inchesLooking at the previous answers, They must have a different tool from mine or I can't read a tape meaure.The arms on my tool are aluminum. I tried to cut a 1 and 1/2 ince piece of cherry with it that ws extremely hard.The arms were extended and were bent in the process. I used a lot of force snd probably should have realized thatIt was not going to cut it. I have used it on the same size green wood and it did fine.

It does not say how thick a branch can it cut?

The jaws open approximately 2", so theoretically a 2' branch can be cut. However, this measurement is at the absolute end of the 'vee' opening. In practice the limb will be placed somewhat closer to the closed end of the 'vee'. Therefore the cut itself will be somewhat less than 2'. I haven't measured branches that I have actually cut, but I estimate that some were 1 1'2' or more in diameter. If you can find purchase on the limb, these loppers will cut it. They are great!

where is this product manufactured?

For each cut, it takes 6-8 open/closes of handles to engage the cutting edge on the branch. . THe bigger the branch the fewer motions it takes.

Heavy duty tool. Very well made

We use for trimming tree and shrub branches. I easily cut 2 inch hardwood limbs with this tool. To extend the handle, twist the knob at the end of the handle and slide to desired length, then turn the knob back to original position. Works well.It is a ratchet system with plenty of leverage for large limbs. Once you start closing the jaw by closing the handles, each open and close of the handle advances to the next ratchet notch. To fully open the jaws again, the handles must be opened WIDELY to release the ratchet. This might be a bit awkward if working in tight quarters.Excellent quality all around

Diese Astscheere ist etwas gewoehnungsbeduerftig und scheidet ohne groesse Muehe auch dicke Aeste, fuer die man sonste eine Saege brauchen wuerde. Die Aeste im Bild habe ich geschnitten, ohne die Griffe ausziehen. Sie ist eine sehr gute Ergaenzung zur Heckenscheere. Ich bin begeistert.
