It's 11 years old. So I got this Leather Repair Doctor in black color. It arrived very fast. So I wiped the area clean with a paper towel. I got a plastic stick. Then I opened the product, dipped the stick into the liquid, and simply applied the black liquid to the seam that had the tear and the small hole at the end. It applied easily without dripping or any mess. I put the liquid over the seam and hole which only took a very small amount from the bottle. So this bottle will last a long time. And when I got in my car the next day, my repair was dry and looked good. Yes, the black liquid is a bit shinier than my leather, but it still looks pretty good, and I think this will prevent any more tearing. I recommend this product for small tears in leather products. It will do the job without any fuss. Review: Better than the holes though and easy to apply - Works very well to cover up holes in my poker table vinyl. It finishes smooth but my table has a textured look so you can still tell where the marks are. Better than the holes though and easy to apply.

This is a miracle product! IโM GETTING THIS IN EVERY COLOR
I took a chance never expecting these results. The solution is like tar. Thatโs precisely what I had in mind before I stumbled on this product. I had no idea this was exactly what I visioned. I had to apply three coats and did what the manufacturer suggested by wiping the dried area lightly with alcohol to give it a textured look. I did that after 30 minutes otherwise it would have removed the entire application. I used an alcohol pad (mine was a generic wipe used for medical use found in any store). This thinned the dried solvent and I then pressed my finger hard into the area, lifting my finger slowly and pressing again slowly to dull the finish and give it a matte and leather texture to match my defective guitar case. The 3 images I took was a (1) BEFORE , (2) ONE COAT and a (3) FINAL THIRD COAT look after the alcohol rub. The camera light makes the repair look more apparent than in person. Trust me, this thing looks like it was never damaged! I LOVE IT and I know you will too.

not bad but not good, either.
So the shipment arrived really fast, but the product opinion is mixed. We ordered the black for a hand me down vinyl desk chair that was covered in surface cracks. These did not crack all the way through, but were just hairline and some bigger that were more of "crazing" than actual holes or tears or rips. I have put on four coats and followed the instructions ( online ) as closely as possible. One of my issues is not the fault of the product, but rather the surface itself. The product is shiny and is great for shiny, almost patent leather type surfaces, but on a matte chair, the "repairs" look wet and stand out. My other issue is that after three coats, the crazing and cracks were still visible and detectable by both eye and touch. The fourth coat seems to have made them disappear, but now the chair is definitely "lumpy" over the many areas. I am supposed to use alcohol to smooth these out,but I am understandably afraid of knocking off any of the product as it took so much to achieve "closure" on the cracks. Again, this was vinyl, not leather, but the cracks, not rips, did not go beyond the fabric backing, so there was no way to "support" them with any other material. However, with all of this, I am sure that if I had a more matte product, that the chair, while still being "lumpy" would not look so strange. I did use a similar product to repair a "brand" in our new leather sofa ( kid put a hot cast iron skillet on sofa-don't ask why) and the repair was absolutely perfect and invisible. So, I am not sure how much of this was operator error, wrong type of finish, or just a bad batch of product.

Expensive. Didn't work as I had hoped.
Had a small crack in leather side compartment in car. This leather repair said it was also 'adhesive', but did not make the (small) cracked area stick together. Okay to maybe dab on small cracks on seats where leather is worn, but have only tried that on a couple of small spots. Really needed it to repair the crack, but again it doesn't seem to hold together and I even held it together myself for a while to try to make it stick. And solution did NOT fill in the crack either as it states. I guess only good to use on softer leather parts (seats), not hard leather surfaces (dash, side compartments, etc). Giving 2 stars instead of 1, since it may work to cover scratches, but definitely not a 'fix all'.

This stuff is amazing!!
I rarely write reviews but I was very impressed with this product. My cat clawed up a leather Coach suitcase. I called every leather repair shop in my area and no one could fix it. I then purchased this product. It arrived within two days. It was extremely easy to use and really made a huge difference in my suitcase. You can barely tell there was any damage at all to the suitcase and given the fact that my cat really did a number on the suitcase, that is saying alot. Highly recommend!!!!

Go with a heat-cured solution, not this one.
I've used other vinyl repair solutions and this one is not very good. It's still sticky in places after several days and I'll have to go back over it with a better product. I stirred thoroughly since it had been sitting unused for a long time, cleaned the area with soap and water, waited until it was completely dry, and applied in several thin coats a few hours apart, but it's still tacky around the edges. The parts where it fully cured look decent, but heat-cured is the way to go. I'm ordering some 3M repair that I've used successfully in the past to fix the issues this one created. Edit: After attempting to get in touch with the manufacturer for advice on fixing the mess this product made, I've lowered my rating to one star since they've not responded.

Durable, easy to use
So easy to use, and produced GREAT results on a black movie theater seat. We had a smaller tear, but wanted to catch it before it turned into something substantial. It's been holding for about three months now, so I can attest to the durability with three kids constantly sitting on the chairs. Nothing has moved, looks just like the day I did the repair. I can't speak to a huge repair--but I can say that the small tear is hardly noticeable and I would absolutely buy this again.
