This set has more colors with the metallics and slimmer in size. Otherwise, they are the same quality.

Q: Are these easily breakable if you drop them in a hard surface or toss them across the room?

yes, I personally did not like them

Q: Did you find you needed to use a paint brush to achieve your design? Or was using the sticks on their own enough?

I did not get that detailed in our designs. The kids didn't care doing their own faces. The crayons don't sharpen and not sure a brush would work.
